Not sure I believe McRae giving the impression they won't be signing McDonnell.

It's not like you hang around for a player in a key position who would take around 80-100k on the salary cap to "let you know" that he might be interested in a contract if, come October, his NRL options have not come off.

If that was exactly the case, McRae could rule out signing him as we would need to be allocating the cash elsewhere. That he give such a nuanced reply suggests he could well be coming to us even if the ink isn't yet on a contract.

Even If he had signed Mcrae's not gonna say yes we've signed him cos that will take it away from the media release in the up coming weeks.

Same goes for Chase I suppose, maybe he is signed and they are keeping it till we are all doom and gloom when we get knocked out of the comp.

We certainly lack "grunt" up front at the moment for 2013 but I don't think that he's (Manofakatoa sp) anywhere near good enough. If O'Meley is about to sign an extension, we just need to replace Moa (christ knows who with).

Paea would have been exceptional, Taylor brilliant and Crabtree IMO would have been very good. However, it seems we're missing out on more than we would have ideally liked.

If we have Johnson and Ogre has signed on then we have our four props. Plus two young back up players. With out back row options I'm happy with the pack.

Still wonder about Tickle. Is AP calling Widnes bluff...we'll see.
