There's a reason why people think we get better value for money from O'Meley and Fitzgibbon: it's because their roles don't hinge on the rest of the team, they 'only' need to cart the ball up and hit anything that comes near them. It's at least as much that less is expected of them as it is them offering more. The basic prop's role is the same in any team, the pivotal positions depend on how your team is set up to play.

im sure Hull would have any of those i listed earlier, and there werent exactly world beaters over there where they? when Rovers first signed Blake green i thought Blake Who??? because he is unheard of, but then i thought the same about those on the list i put up and theyve done very well for there clubs.

I don't think your point was valid, simple as that. I don't ever think he's looked average for us, he's always looked one of, if not the, most talented player(s) we have. The team just haven't either been good enough or implemented the right tactics to get the best from him.

We didn't see the best of him in 2008 either, he was just still obviously a cut above every other player we had. As he was again until his injury in 2009 IMO. This last season was patchy, but he had off-field issues which probably contributed to that TBF.

Despite plenty of fans criticising and blaming him, if I was in his shoes I personally would be cursing the day I let Hull FC sell me a vision that turned out to be a mirage. I bet he's every bit as disappointed he traded his peak years to finish his days in a dud side as anyone else.
