I have been looking at this thread a bit and think myelf its not so much about Agar being a good talker because at times he gets a bit tongue tied but for me having been there and seen the body language etc. I would say it was more down to sincerity and integrity. He seemed to know we had beeen hurting and all but admitted that this was his last chance, there is no arrognce there and he admits he has not always got it right! I think the feeling from the Brother and a lot of other doubters at the end of the night was that we all want despoerately to succeed, but it would be a bonus if we can succeeed under Agar because he is with us rather than allouf and distant from us.

I got the impression that if he does not succeed he understands that is it for him, as I said not an ounce of arrogance, and with his presentation which really needed to be seen to be appreciated he talked to the fans as equals not, as many coaches do as folks who really 'Dont understand' or are not clever enough to have the grasp of things! If he is to improve as a coach as you say, it will be on the back of delegating the attacking stuff to Longy, whilst he does what he appears to do best having an over view of disipline, working practise, work ethics etc etc.

Just my take on it though! I think you had to be there to judge it !

I'd never question his honesty or his integrity. It's his ability that is the problem.

Youre implying that its a spin excersise by the company so ive asked you to tell me how it could be run. You havent, youve avoided the question and it appears that without experiencing the forum youre happy to slate it for not being effective? Seems a little odd to me.

and at the forum he gave some honest opinions of why we underperformed last season. Im partly with you that i think he could have done better, but if you'd have been at the forum you'd have probably come away with a little bit more of an understanding of the problems in general and what the coaches and players felt about last season. The radio also doesnt do it justice.

I know its been talked about before, but can anyone see the likes of Fitzgibbon, Long & O'Meley training/working for a clueless coach?

I'm not saying Agar is, what I'm saying is if they come and find out he is (in their opinions.)

Not too sure how he survived last season, if I'm honest.

Surely as senior players they'll have his ear and give him 'advice?'

I'm thinking it might be worth a punt on Agar not getting canned next season, let alone not being first canned, I think you'll get long odds and make a decent return.

I'm avoiding nothing. I've never experienced a liberal government but it doesn't mean I don't know it wouldn't be effective.

It is run in the way you would expect it to run which is why I have no desire to attend. Despit rule's attempts to engage us as "shareholders", we're not and we have no say in teh running of teh club and our opinions do't matter to those who own and run the club. You can convince yourself otherwise if you wish. They're a PR exercise, simple as

I heard some excuses but it didn't really give me a picture why a team which still had a good number of full iinternationals in it each week failed miserably. I personally put a chunk of it down to poor man management and coaching but must have missed the bit where he coughed to that

Rubbish.

It was a perfect opportunity to challenge. It was ran by FC Voices with the club. The aim was to allow fans to have the opportunity to quiz a panel without any question been censored or chosen etc.

Its not about having an opportunity to have a say in the running of the club, and why should we. Its an opportunity to ask questions and get honest answer, which can then be challenged if the answer doesnt meet your needs. There were a handful of times that the person with the mic didnt like the response so followed up with a 2nd challenging question.

I never said they weren't a PR excersise, but they do also give the chance as said about to ask your questions instead of just moaning about everything on an internet forum.

To summarise, its about engaging with the fans, god know where your bit about giving input about the way the club is been run, think youre clearly deluded!!

He did say something along the lines of him making mistakes too, as you say you must have tuned out at that point. As ive voiced a lot on here, i agree with you about Agar. I just think youre knocking the forum without really understanding what it was for and how it worked. (and saying you dont need to attend to grasp that is way off the mark too)

Its 100% not a sham but seen as youve convinced yourself that it is i doubt you'll take the offer up, and i guess even if you do take the offer up youre likely to be the kind of person that comes about slagging everyone off for giving their time to do it etc anyway. Or am i wrong?

I know exactly what the forum was for, which is why I wouldn't bother attending.

Do they give everyone a happy pill beforehand or something or do they hold signs up so that only those there know the full extent of what is going on? I fail to see how being there gives an advantage other than seeing his slides or getting caught up in the euphoria of being in a room with messrs berrigan and long.

Did they show some compromising pictures of hudgell and morgan or something?

As I've already said, I've spoken to agar's boss about his deficiencies and he's just full of spin about it. Fair enough but it makes attending an event to voice your concerns a waste of time. Do you really think that the questions raised reflect the genral mood of the fans after our worst season in a decade?

I won't attend because I see no value in sitting around laughing at quips from officials and players an clapping every time someone slags the dobbins off. It has an audience and I think it's an effective means of the club getting them onside.

I did used to enjoy the shareholders meetings in the good old days though

Well i tried, guess some people have already made their minds up without actually know the facts of the event. Its far from a back slapping excersise but you keep telling yourself otherwise, the offer stands for January!
