FC for me have a better balance when Whiting or Washy are at 13. If you look at our attacking performances it's pretty obvious too that we desperately need more creativity. If our existing pivots cant provide it maybe we do need a 4th.

TBH dave we have been running with Dobson at 7 Murrell at 6 and galea at 13 (playing in the SR only when a scrum is formed) IMHO.
As you say that free's up the FB birth to be used more as a classic role instead of the new type of FB.
We have been playing with 3 props just like yourselves really (Watts packing down in the LF spot).

to be honest we've played a lot better since we moved watts to 13, made our go fwd and defence miles better, murrell's played 6, but we have a pivot 2nd rower in galea.

I agree completely with you - The other thing to add is that when I was younger and I presume you - The players were only part-time - had a day job and trained on a night. These modern players- train - go to the gym - have a gentle swim and then go home - I dont mean this as a bleat about comparing eras but our Part-timers had our respect for what they did. We expect our new young players to be up for it every game even if we lose. On Saturday against Wakefield they certainly were not.
