Not to mention 2 soft penalties in the last 3 minutes that effectively gave rovers the game. Jamie shaul's no try should have been given benefit of the doubt. I think all 3 refs were desperate for rovers to win

What on earth? How anybody can be stupid enough to suggest that wasn't a shoulder charge is beyond me.

It was as clear as day. It wasn't malicious but they are illegal now, and Hull was awarded the penalty. End of story. Personally I'm not sure that they should be illegal at all, but you have to play within the rules of the game.

How come the refs spent the first 6 or 7 weeks penalising everything that was offside and any interference at the PTB and have suddenly stopped? chlid's policing of the 10 metres on Thursday was pathetic and he was very inconsistent with his penalties at the ptb

Child was poor, as normal, for both teams. Missed lots and gave stuff when he felt like it.
VR's got every call correct. As for the Whiting incident, I think the fact that Child had given the drop out meant there wasn't compelling enough evidence to overturn.

Seen plenty of comments about how Childs kept skinny 10's - inferring that it somehow cost us the game. What ultimately cost us the game was the lack of a decent goalkicker - as it has in several close games. But also we lacked a player with the nous to exploit the skinny 10's, We need to look at our own players rather than the ref.

Would you class rovers' Burns as a decent goal kicker? - because he was no better than Whiting.

whiting kicked the same number of goals as burns. The skinny 10 didn't allow us any momentum in the forwards.
