Do agree we need a new winger, neither of our starters are especially quick & both have injury concerns.
Can't see it being another backup type, suspect one of the starters might be going ? Maybe Adam's foot isn't healing well - just speculating.
If bringing a winger in surely it is to start & add pace to the team, wish list again but Ratu would be huge, as would Lewis Murphy ?
Fully agree 2nd row would be a priority over wing but got to trust AP & TS to get it right.

Swift, Mitch and Mcintosh are fine as wingers, we have guilty in the past of paying too much cap and non fed places on wingers.

Interesting if you look at the average salary per position, winger is the lowest, I've even seen Manly and Newcastle fans talking about not paying too much money for Garrick and Young, if they ate just going to play in the wing.

I agree with Dave, been guilty of tying up big chunks of cap space and quota spots on wingers in the past.

Swift is more than decent, and McIntosh will hopefully kick on. Also happy to see how the younger players develop there, and give them a chance.

To be honest I think Takairangi looked finished and is championship level at best. With only Savelio & Lane as our only recognised experienced second towers we are certainly on the light side. Would hope we can bring in a decent 2nd row option with a bit of size and aggression.

I don’t think anyone will be wanting to sign him after that performance this afternoon.

Can honestly see Ligi moving to second row unless we can manage to move one or two on to make soon room on the cap.

According to TS tonight on radio no more new signings as no cap space

Disappointing but not surprising I guess given that the Shaul to Wakefield deal recently fell through.
Still, 5 very good signings coming in and as said previously, having a fully fit Cator, Carlos and Savelio back will be like 3 new signings in themselves.

Moving Ligi to second row would be a good replacement for Ma’u leaving us with Satae, Evans, Fash and Brown as our four first choice props.
Be interesting to see where Taylor and Griffin fit in.

As you say RickNRolla it’s disappointing but not surprising. We look very light in the 2nd row without Mau with only Savelio & Lane as our only two recognised 2nd row.

Can’t see many takers coming in for the likes of Shaul, Griffin or Taylor so going to be hard to move them on to create room to be able to make any further changes.

Be interesting to see what TS does re the 2nd row and whether he moves Sao or the likes of Griffin.

All in all I think the club have done a decent job in making the changes they have done considering the limited options we had due to cap space.

Just hammers home how poor our recruitment and decisions re retentions and contracts under the latter part or Radfords tenure and the whole of Hodgsons.have been.

Smith has said that everyone will get a chance so lets see how Griffin and Taylor get on under an experienced coach and highly respected man-manager, hopefully on the back of injury free runs.

Maybe he is looking at Scott going to the back row. I like the lines he runs and lacks the genuine pace needed for a top centre. Think he could be a good back rower

Just seen on the Wakey board that they had a fans forum tonight and their new coach has said that the Shaul deal isn’t dead but low priority at the moment.

Hopefully we can sort something out then.
