Wigan team is so good. Be interesting to see how the youngsters come through over the next few years cope as most of them may not get a look in. Could be some real assets to pick up.

Maybe the new owners are frustrated but it just seems a bit petty to me, we all know that they were under sanctions until everything was ratified so the owners must have been aware it would be close getting it sorted for the start of the season. The daft thing is they have enough talent the 1.2 million squad they put last week would have been competitive and Saints look far from unbeatable. They managed to fit Cross, Marsters, Macdonald and others last week they could have easily made a game of it. As for Leigh they’ve lost a few but Armstrong could be a real superstar. All due respect to Leigh I think it’s a Clifford situation, he’s way too young/good to be playing SL, NRL clubs will be watching closely.

That Salford 21 squad list is pathetic and embarrassing. This is something that is down to no one else but those running Salford. The RFL have bent over backwards and extended deadline after deadline and this is what Salfords attitude is. Considering they’ve been bailed out by the RFL who advanced them half a million quid to keep them alive this is a poor way to show appreciation. Feel sorry for the Salford fans but hope the RFL and clubs ensure Salford face consequences for their pathetic action.

Enjoyable first half that. Good physicality and D from both sides. Far better than the early season drivel were used to getting served up. Leigh look like they've recruited well.

Hopefully Leigh keep wearing them out a bit for next week.

Should have known better given his experiecne, though do feel he was impleaded before that and Wigan should have had a penalty

great game to start the season off, too teams who will be up at the top end no doubt, a referee who was happy to let things go, others need to take note and keep the consistency for each game!

The season opener before at Wakefield was a bit colder mind.

I'll admit to getting a bit nostalgic this morning. Was listening to Vossy during the Canberra v Cronulla pre-season challenge talking about the upcoming season opener and how Allegiant Stadium in Vegas was possibly one of the best in the world,........then I thought back of everybody lined up, ing at the back of Threepenny early 80's ,full of beer...... How the world has moved on........
