He was awful for us at stand off. I admit he was pretty poor in a lot of respects at fullback, but we performed even worse with him at 6. I suspect like us, Giants will get 6/7 games out of him pulling rabbits out of a hat, and the rest of the season injured or poor.

Well according to our coach between 4-6 months. You appear to be out of date in Hull regarding current treatment on this type of injury. 10 months may have been needed in the past but no longer. The club have consulted widely in the NRL and over here, and of course with the consultants involved and 4-6 months appears to be consensus. Liam sutcliffe had a similar injury last year and was back within that time period.
Connor has already had the surgery so the clock has already started, Watson has said there’s a possibility he may even be ready for the start of the season- but obviously he will have had no preseason so it’s unlikely that will be the case.
I suspect the 10 month quoted was a combination of bad journalism and spin.

| Played his best games for us at centre. Lack of pace exposed his game at full back, and never convinced at 6.
We relied on him too much and it was a case of “give it to Connor”.
Think he’d have been even better for us if it wasn’t all on him.

| There’s nothing quite like a supercilious poster Is there?..
Perhaps jools was just letting folk see an on line article that they hadn’t previously seen..
On subject of Connor.
A thought for the few vocal fans on here that wanted him to stay..
He made it clear some months ago he no longer wanted to play for FC.
So why make a player fulfill his last year contract when he doesn’t want to be at the club.
Accept he’s gone and let’s move on.
Time will tell if he can win the giants a trophy.
I hope he does actually for Ken Davys sake.

| I think somewhere between the two you'll find the more accurate estimate. Hull will obviously spin it their way and Huddersfield the same. Only time will tell.
I was pretty neutral on his release to be honest, probably leaning more towards being disappointed, but everything i've seen or read this week makes me think Hull have made the right decision .

It's also on the other thread, plus Jools has a real bee in her bonnet when it comes to Hull/Connor and Pearson, just coming on here to have digs at the club. Still not sure she is over it.

To be honest Davey I think Watson is being a tad optimistic that Jake will be back in 4-6 months considering it seems he has had both a PCL and a microfracture injury that has required surgery. My brother in law only had a microfracture issue which he had surgery on the first week of November last year, it took him until late June/July before he could even think about starting to run again, he is still not back to running like he used too yet and he didn't have any real complications in his rehab.
Every ones different and the extent of injury will differ so will recovery times but for me it seems very optimistic to suggest 4 to 6 months so soon after his surgery. No doubt if Connor isn't back in 4 to 6 months Watson will simply come out with the standard coaches comment 'they don't need to rush him back and they are taking time to make sure he is fully fit etc'.
All in all the move has been best for both club and Jake and hopefully he makes a full recovery and realises his full potential, naturally I'm still disappointed he is no longer at our club.

Funny how first of all I’m quoting an online post, next I’m putting NRL in a post to make it look like I’m right.
schrodingers post eh.
So what is it that hurts so much, that fact he’s gone, or the fact he’s gone for nothing.
I wasn’t aware you lot would have seen a post from our club- why would I be? I don’t particularly watch interviews from your coach as a rule. Didn’t realise we were that interesting to you.

Whose hurt ? By Connor going ?
Lets be honest we tried to offload him to every club (hence why he was free) and your club was the only ones who bit. Presumably after your dismal play off performance your club wanted to make a mark and also try and attract new fans because come grading time youd be nothing without Davy and IMG will see through that.
You never tried passing a message on either, you opened by digging at Hull and suggesting that we are behind the times. We shall see wont we who proves to be right on that front.
I couldnt care less about Connor being here either, hes a good player but has also played his part in the downfall of the club. We will move on and I am sure for the better.

Not so sure why people get hung up about fees.
RL is not awash with money and if it instantly saves you eg £200,000 a year in salary for a player who doesn't want to be here, we move on and use the cap space wisely to improve the squad.
Making Jake sit tight for a year, for a fee that might not appear, for a player who doesn't want to be here and potentially disrupt squad harmony makes no sense.
Would you be happier if we could have thrown Griffin in on a 2 for 1 deal though?

Funny because one of your fans was quick to tell me just a couple of weeks ago how he had a direct hand in about 40% of your points last season. That’s with his missing games! You would Potentially have been looking at relegation without him- certainly things would have been a lot more uncomfortable.
But now he’s gone suddenly he’s not all that.
Connor will be a bit part in the giants team, not the only thing going like he was at Hull. That will take the pressure off him, reduce his frustrations, I think that will enable him to be even better.
Hopefully with TS coming in he will get FC playing a better brand of rugby than the dire stuff you were used to under radford and hodgson. He’s known for allowing his teams to play what’s in front of them and not boring one up stuff. Hopefully give the fans some entertainment.

Yes, it's amazing how people can totally change their minds about a player when he either leaves or joins their club (or both), isn't it?

The thing he fails to realise, is that Connor wants it to be all about him - he won't be happy being a bit part player with Huddersfield, and sharing the creativity in attack. I've said it elsewhere, but for me, it is better having 3 players with 10 assists, than having 1 with 30

Just don't know what your fascination in Hull FC is since Connor left? Your initial post wasn't just simply quoting what Watson had said either as you claim bearing in mind the first and last part of your post.
As for your latest post its again utter tripe, very few if any have not said Connor isn't all that, in fact quite the opposite. What has been said is although he has undeniable talent he has issues that do detract. Again very few will argue that we would have been in a very different position without last season but also we are more likely to be in a better position this coming season due to the recruitment of a better, quicker and fitter spine that offers creativity/options across the spine rather than just a single player, plus the arrival of TS as Head Coach will improve that.
Your last comment about boring one up stuff is rich coming from someone supporting Huddersfield who are renowned for playing a spoiling game and even with the arrival of Watson and the good signings, for me you still play predominantly a conservative style of rugby that's not particularly entertaining, which probably cost you the CC if I'm honest.
For me its disappointing Connors gone as he is a talented player but as most have said its not the end of the world he's gone and it's probably the best for both our club and Connor himself, as its not just about talent in a team game its also very much about attitude and application.

Exactly this for all he sits at the top of the try assists chart it doesnt show his ambitous grubber kicks on tackle 2 or 3, his interceptions or passes thrown straight in touch.
Connors achilles heel is that he always trys to score every play and the more ops hes had the slower he becomes and the worse his defence has got.
Still a great player but i didnt cry when he left.

Looked that way in the CC final, when you spent all the time of the Wigan line in the last 20 minutes trying not to score, got what you deserved in the end.
Massive pressure on Watson now got to win something soon or will go down as a massive failure, must be the most backed coach in SL.
Br interesting to see how Connor goes, improved highly at Hull, gaining international honours and winning a trophy, will he replicate that at Hudds
Be prepared for massive focus on him, every single mistake he does will be scrutinised more than any other SL, I'll miss Connor but not the media attention on him.
