But the whole farcical display was just another demonstration by Allam that he can do what he likes with 'his' pitch and 'his' stadium as owner of the SMC. Same with encouraging the pitch invasion at City's last game and hosting the party there (wonder what the 'soccer-related losses' were from that event?).

Squash is an indoor sport and this event was perfect for the arena. Instead Mr Allam would prefer to compromise the interests of one of his major tenants by destroying part of the pitch during their season, simply as a muscle-flexing exercise. Whether he intends to reseed imminently is irrelevant to us tonight.

A good chunk of them were freebies, too. Startling amount of coverage in the HDM, though. Wonder why?

It's a multi-use stadium, and it was used for a squash tournament, so what. It won't have any detrimental effect on the Rugby tonight.

Put it this way, Squah at the Commonwealth Games in 2002 was held in the same venue as Table Tennis, as I recall the crowd for the final was a little under 4k. (admittedly, Squash is played in a glass box with one opaque wall, so allowing that many people to be able to see in was impressive.

Ask yourself a simple question - would he have held the squash tournament on the KC pitch if it had still been City's season? He was even begging us to swap our last game ffs.

He held the tournament on the pitch destroying part of it while we are halfway through our season, thereby ignoring his responsibilities as SMC owner to ensure the pitch remains fully maintained. The arena, which the SMC also manage, would have been a far more suitable venue. These are facts, not paranoia.
