I am not certain what Gentle has done this year. Hull have won nothing and will not win anything. So not much has changed since Agars reign.
All hopes will be on next season for another spectacular failure.

you really are thick, winning something the year we bring in a new coach, with our squad just isn't possible. Our style of play has improved but Gentle isn't just glossing over Agar's mess, he's digging right down into our problems and rebuilding from the ground up.

I have complete admiration for the Hull fans,each season brings the usual false
dawn. Followed by the usual failure,then the blaming of all parties concerned and the ritual changing of the coaching staff. Truly remarkable an inspiration to
all people of an optimistic nature.

Strangely enough I don't live under a bridge, nor do I support HKR but the facts
speak for themselves Hull have won nothing and are once again rebuilding a
new team under a new coach.
I genuinely hope you win something one day if only to break the stranglehold
of the relatively small band of clubs that win all the trophys.

I am a supporter of rugby league,who has become tired over a number of years
at the constant quee of third rate Aussie coaches and players arriving year after
year. Yes I know there are a number of exceptions, but as someone who played
the game for a number of years and watched the game both here and in Australia for over thirty years I am mystified at the belief that all problems can be solved by an Aussie import.
Example. Nathan Brown has left Huddersfield to join Saints, he achieved nothing
for the Giants and is rewarded by one of the top coaching jobs.
Example. Of a bright young home spun coach Paul Broadbent just got a temporary position at Dewsbury if somebody persevered with him he would be
a success.

We persevered with a young British coach and it did nothing for us, so we will take our chances with "3rd" rate Aussies as you put it.

Well we will have to see what next season brings for Hull, certainly there will be
no silverware for Hull this season.

Watched back Gentle's post-match interview on FC.tv, it's interesting that right at the end he says that the team start to 'feel real good about themselves real quickly', obviously meaning after our good win at Catalans. The mentality of the club is clearly a fair distance away from where it needs to be and will take just as much time as our playing ability to improve. Hopefully another pre-season with the players who actually want to be here will see to that.

Another British coach who given a chance in super league would be a success is
Darryl Powell at Featherstone. Ask any player who has played under his coaching and they will tell you what a superb coach he is. Also he demands a high level of fitness from his players.

What exactly is the point you are trying to make on this board?

If it was as easy as that then I am sure he would be coaching a SL side now. We had plenty of players who said what a superb coach Agar was and look how that turned out. Coaches are judged on performances and results at the end of the day and not on how players view them.
