Thanks for the endorsements Mrs B - I don't quite know what they were expecting if I'm honest. First time I've seen police at the Stobart for many a moon and the stewards did come into the Widnes section a couple of times to 'have words'.

Absolutely ridiculous at the end of the game. The stewards must be used to crowds with the Saints games being paid there AND how come the Widnes fans were allowed to walk down and out?

Agreed about the poor stewarding, they were pure jobsworths, especially the one who answered "because you're from Hull" when asked why we couldn't go through the gate at the bottom.

He also asked some guy at the front, "how did you get in here with a face like that?"

I have bad memories of visits to widnes in the past and a scar on my chin to back it up , walking through less than friendly areas in widnes is not a plan in my opinion for that reason, and today the fella in front of me with bains with him wasnt impressed either ....

have been there too bud, but i didnt have any problems today, in fact, the widnes fans i did speak too were spot on, times change and the last time i saw real bother at widnes was in 1989

Stewarding wasn't the best I've seen. They didn't seem to be able to trust us, all the police watching us, stewards running as fast as they could into the stand for, as far as I could see, no apparant reason. Then they made us get the bus from a different side of the ground to what we'd got off (presumabley to seperate us from Widnes fans) at and expected us to know the streets of a town some of us have never been to before! When we asked a steward where to go for the bus, she didn't seem to have a clue and passed us onto someone else.

I have had the same experiences with visits to Hull.
