Mate of mine works for Diageo who brew it, he gave me a couple of bottles that were for export only to Nigeria. Tastes awful because of the sugar content.

On thread - We actually bought a few in the Irish bar at the rear of the Castille last year, it was very expensive.

I've been known to frequent that Irish bar. Very expensive but ended up in a round with a local where he was buying 5 to my 1. Think he fancied me!!

Was a really funny night, couldn't work out why the barman was talking to me in spanish until a mate of mine pointed out that i was ordering drinks in spanish not french!

Quality Dave; 3 years ago we travelled to France/Spain and Germany in the space of 4 months and I struggled to adjust to say the least. It was rather Del Boy-esque me old Mange Tout.

I was....The only thing i can remember about it was cold and very windy.

Joking aside a full coach of us had spent the week AI in callela so the beer was flowing nonstop.Everyone on the coach were wearing Callela trilby hats at the game so you may remember us.We all had a great time and i would recommend it to anyone.

i'll never forget that game,however hard I try !!!

In the Irish bar yes. Everywhere else it lager, wine or bottles of 2% apple juice.

Last year was awesome because Perpignan qualified for the RU finals or something and they were partying in the street like maniacs.

Aye - took us ages to get into town on Friday night before that game and Friday night was crackers

I took videos on my phone for about an hour of people climbing 30ft statues to wave catalan flags and the cars racing through the streets like rally drivers. I'm only amazed no one was run over.

I do really love going to Perpignan, rugby crazy whichever code and very welcoming.

We missed all that as we'd been staying in Canet plage and didn't arrive in Perpignan until the Saturday morning.
They are fanatical about sport certainly know how to celebrate. I'll never forget Narbonne after the World cup Semi final?? it was mental; there were people hanging out of car windows/sunroofs/boots the lot.

the night USAP won the french championship in 2009 was the same day as the Catalans v Rhinos game - the RL game ended in time for the locals to watch the RU game live from Paris - they had a big screen in front Le Castillet - must have been 5000 people in the square ! brilliant night !

yeh,must have been a semi final - definitely wasn't the final - I was at the FC game in Perpignan and can't recall that many celebrations but I recall it was impossible to find somewhere to eat plus it was pretty cold so most people were probably indoors keeping warm...
For the final,when Toulouse won the french RU,I was at at Toulouse for a TO game maybe against Batley IIRC in early may.there was an early ko if I recall to make it easier for the french fans to see both games.
