Quite simple, until we no longer have names like G.Horne, R.Whiting, P.King. et al then the club will remain is the shadow of the bigger teams i n SL, we wont be troubling the likes of Leeds and St Helens for a hell of a long time.

Lets face it, getting players like Long at the back end of their career is hardly the coup that some people would have us believe!

No Agar isn't the problem, the board is. Agar is useless and is'nt the right man to take this club forward, we all know this, but why don't the board? Agar isnt going to sack himself, so unless the board have the guts to do so, he is still in a job, and as long as he is still in a job, Hull FC are going nowhere. Kear and Sharp were sacked for a lot less, so why hang on to Agar who is considerably the worst of the 3? I'm sick of hearing 'judge Agar with his own team', well I am judging him NOW, and what I see NOW, is nowhere near good enough. Anybody can be successful if they have everything right there infront of them, but a good coach will make average players look like good players (take Nathan Brown for example), Agar on the other hand has made good players look like average players, which is why he will never be good enough to be a head coach in SL, never mind for Hull.FC.

I'm sick of hearing how this isnt Agars team so we can happily write this season off as it doesn't count. Rich' bloody Agar is the coach so whether he likes it or not they are HIS team.

It wont be long until its 2 CC Finals and 1 GF in 14 years. you had your time now you need to rebuild.

the sooner we realise that we arent a "big"club anymore maybe we can move forward...all i read on here is get this aussie coach get that aussie coach..nobody will come while we have this clueless set of players..for me its get rid of the players who dont deserve to wear the shirt-there is plenty of them...iam prepared to give agar a chance

a good coach can coach any team to the best of their ability as long as there are no personality clashes.

brian smith 1988 with a team of also rans got them playing for each other and taking what limited ability the squad had to heights no one could ever imagine including the players themselves.

i dont even think richard agar could coach kids.

There are rare coaches that can make poor playing staff perform well but they are few and far between. We have a poor coach, a poor squad and an awful board. I can't see how simply replacing Agar will solve our problems, I don't believe any coach worth their salt would come to Hull under the current regime. That said, it's definitely worth a try!

hi all..first time on here.heres my two bobs worth...i dont think agar can be judged on this season..he has made mistakes.tactically etc.which is only natural first season in charge.im sure the board expected this and really you have to give them credit for that.....they have given him a chance..nobody could of done much with this team..even the great justin morgan didnt do much his first season did he....next season .providing theres no injury crisis..and we get a top class 6...we,ll be back up there!!!..........tansey for england!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a top team should not be gambling on an untried coach

and this isn't his first season, he was in charge for a large chunk of last season, and has been involved in the set up for years. Morgan didn't do much in his first few MONTHS at Rovers, but then led them to promotion in his first full season.

and there has been more than a few tactical errors (bad interchanges etc) the whole tactics and set up are flawed IMO

I'd have been happy to give Agar time IF we had shown some improvement over the last games of Peter Sharps regime, instead our defense has got worse, we exited the cup limply and our attack is just as bad.

...................i can see your point.but i think the club was justified ii giving him a chance.as you say he,s been involved with the hull set up for years.a bit of loyalty comes into it i think...not just for hull.for british rugby league as well....isnt their enough aussies over here!!!!...next season when the new team is assembled is the time to judge..as for morgan i wonder how he would of got on without dobson cooke murrell and galea..oh and the scond best fullback in the city.....

The players are also on easy street knowing that there is no relegation and hence they can come back next season on the same salary/contract and do the same old e again!!

The excuse its not agars team can also be used for next year as a lot of the team still will not be his

I was not especting a lot this year as I felt that we did not have any real go forward from the front row - but I was thinking we would have a more expansive style to compensate for this. What we have seen is a continuation of P Sharpe where knowone is allowed to do anything off the cuff. But Agars game plan is worse I feel that we are trying to play like the Aussies did 20 years ago ( P Sharpe tactics) and Agar is not capable of changing this

Absolutely spot on. Whether you like agar or not he should have got better performances out of the players we have and he should have set them out with better tactics etc. If as he has said they dont play to these tactics he has shown weakness by not dropping them. Simple.

The guy is damned if he does and damned if he doesn't...i can imagine the uproar if he started dropping senior players for not adhering to his instructions. We just aren't good enough, end off. Put the first 5 games down to catching teams cold.

Think fans would respect him more for dropping senior players and telling us why. Its better than telling us they will be dropped and then not doing it. He lost all respect he had left at that point. Agree about the first 5 games by the way.

Dont forget it was AGAR and SHARP that brought this low grade player to
HULL FC in place of WEBSTER. Its no good saying he has lost his confidence as AGAR does, THORMAN is a poor poor player.

It looks like Agar will have 6 or 7 players back in the squad for the Catalans game this should leave some interesting selection problems and maybe the chance for him to make a statement.

If Dowes, Cusack, King, Thackray, Moa, Cordoba and Lauaki are all fit whos plays prop?

And it is easy to say,without proof, that Webster would have been better.

He would still be playing behind a beaten pack and to be fair he looks good in a league that is poor in quality.

Cusack and Cordoba start with Moa and Lauaki off the bench.

King has been impressive in the last month, I would have him ahead of Cordoba who struggles to hold the ball. Also not sure you want Moa and Lauaki on at the same time.

King had a good 20 mins v rovers but not sure about anything else.

Cordoba has been very good other than the rovers game. Moa and Lauaki on at the same time is exactly what we need imo for the last 15/20 mins of the half.

Could be do-able if we continue the 5 prop game .
