To be fair I thought the tactics for tonight were spot on. No fancy stuff, just grind out the win. Crusaders were out to spoil the party and we had to manage them right.

I thought our kicking game was awful tonight, at times the chase was too staggered causing gaps to appear.

I thought Fitz kick was probably the best

yet we had no half backs against Harlequins, but scored 42 points, go figure.

I thought that the contant taking of 2's, especially the one on their 20, showed a lak of ambition and confidence by our coaching staff.
However, it did chuck it down. I'm still drying out.

Was a boring game...but I thought we played to the conditions tbh.

With a tight scoreline and a wet ball, they were absolutely right to kick anything within range. Far too easy to plant it in touch and drop the ball on the first tackle.

Saints ran Warrington close last week,with no halves.

Difference is Saints have dummy runners,and always players in support.

I thought we were fortunate to scrape a win tonight, the options to kick at goal at every opportunity almost back fired. In hindsight we can say they were the correct decisions but we almost blow it.

Not happy with our negative approach to this game but i'm not suprised by that.

6 penalty goals is 6 attacking opportunities knocked back but, the rain was torrential so i can understand the 'take whatever comes our way attitude' if it had been a barmy summer night we would of ran those penalties

I thought tonight you could excuse the lack of creativity but I was disappointed that our full strength pack couldn't get over the top of what is only a workmanlike although professional Crusaders pack. Organisationally we were poor too and rarely got set up so that the kicker had time to get a decent kick in. Acting half play even at it's most basic just needs to be quick and organised but players were overrunning , getting the ball standing still and when tackled always ending up on their backs after being held up which means no momentum. Awkward side to play in horrible conditions but hell we need to improve to have any impact in the next few weeks.

I think crusaders have got a good pack to be fair , O'hara + bryant got lots of Nrl experience and they got two good 2nd rowers in winterstein + hauraki so they were never going to just roll over .Thought Our pack dint do too bad Ogre did well considering 2nd game in 2 months and Moa played well not forgetting we had to move manu after 5 mins which cost us a bit but lauaki had one of his better games. Couldn't agree with you about no organisation but will happen with no half backs but shows how desperate we are for 2 consistent ones

I agree mate , They all seemed to kicked without any direction or effort. On the creativity aspect of the game , There was never going to be any in those conditions .

Weather didnt help but i'd have really liked us to have ran with the ball for at least one of the times when we went for 2. It nearly cost us a victory. We should imo have been turning the screw more against a side like Crusaders.

thats where it comes down to opinions, every penalty we got i was shouting to go for 2. Was always going to be a close game and it paid off. I guess other times it might not but he got the tactics right in the end.

In the end he did. But for me we should have aimed to be out of sight rather than needing a last minute penalty to win.

When we were 2 points in front for example and went for a kick to make it 4 points i can see the benefit of been further in from but i'd have liked us to have a go in the wet conditions. Footwork for the defenders means if we have landed a set play we should have been able to create things, or at least repeat sets to tire them out.

The conditions dictated the style of game both teams played so the going for 2 was a safe option with a kicker of Tickles class and I suppose the result justifies the decision but I thought Child didnt help by hardly taking the teams back more then 7 or 8 metres at the play the ball.
