The Semi Final venue was selected before the semi finalists were known. The stadium is close to Rugby League heartlands with good rail links and v close to a motorway junction. It’s really not that hard a journey from Hull, which isn’t close to anywhere.

I wonder if you’d be calling for a ground in the middle of all clubs if Catalan, Toulouse, Toronto or London were involved.

True neutrality for a double header will difficult given the spread of teams. Only realistic way would be to scrap Magic and host the semis at the same venue, eg St James, Bramhall Lane.

Or to pick a neutral venue convenient for both teams and scrap the double header. It's contrived to save money on poorly attended semi finals which I have no problems with but they need to be appropriately located. Subsidising travel for a small number of fans isn't a solution.
