Look,I don`t recall slating new signings,but in McGoldrick`s case I did.When there was a poll for the player who we disliked the most I put him on my list.I was underwhelmed when we signed him. I am willing to put my hand up and say he has proved me wrong.
To be fair I don`t think we need to go into raptures every time we sign a player.

Whilst I'm willing to admit he's played better than expected, I stand by my 'cheap-shot merchant' comment. The high shot in the derby was a typical example IMO, nasty and you could see it coming as soon as he went towards the player. Whether he was wearing black and amber or black and white, that's not the kind of thing I like to see.

Stop being gay, its rugby league and players from opposition sides have been doing it for years to us whilst we be all nicey nicey. It sgood to see someone who riles the oppo sides as we havent really had one since Hepi

We've missed some agression in recents weeks, McGoldrick brings us that but his overall game so far has been much better than I was expecting.

I said this when we signed him. We've missed having a bit of menacing presence on the field since Ogre has been out.

McGoldrick has provided a great spark in our attack and gives us extra dimension in the 20 metre zone. We've been missing that.

On the evidence so far, I'd have no problem with giving him a 12 month deal if he'll take it.

It wasn't nasty whatsosver imo, just a high tackle.

It's not just menace though is it. Like Whiting, a genuine ball handler, something we have badly lacked.

And the guy seems to be really enjoying his rugby now.

Theres nothing wrong with having one or two players in your team with a bit of attitude and menace (as someone else said). Goldie has this and has also risen to the challenge so far and proved all doubters wrong.....credit to the guy.

Its a tough game and people but their bodies on the line, credit to anyone who turns out in a black and white shirt and gives it their all.

Basicly, to put it into some sort of sense,I meant that when we sign new players,I agree with you,we don`t need to slate them before they even come here.

But with some signings we don`t have to feel obliged to feel overjoyed either.

As much as I disliked him as a Cas player I have been impressed with him since he's played for FC. But personally speaking I think there is a big difference to how a player performs when he's playing for his future (whether with us or elsewhere). Gentle is clearly no mug and has used this to our advantage in our hour of need but if we do see his value as a utility for next years squad it will be interesting to see how he goes once he has the contract in the bag.

Got to admit Goldie has surprised a few on here, i was very underwhelmed with the signing, but he has surpassed everything i thought of him. A very useful player to have in the team. Worth a contract for next season imo.

Has done alright,but we need to get rid at the end of the year,no need to sign another average player,that's what got us into this position in the first place,average player has a good game and suddenly he's the messiah,over the coming years he proceeds to be,AVERAGE,we as a team finish 6,7, or 8th,I wonder why????

Has done well so wouldnt be surprised if got a new deal but at the same time wouldnt be too fussed if we didnt keep him.

One of the lads i work with ran into him at the services on the M62, he pulled in to fill up and there he was filling up the tank on a houge bike (didnt know he was a biker) this lad said hey Goldie how do you find Hull then ??
he shouted "easy mate follow the M62 till it stops you cant miss it" then pishhed himself laughing paid and rode off

doing well and just the sort of guy we need IMO, I certainly dont want to win the fair play award
