was a decent game really enjoyed it even the clips of the 30 yrs of the origin at the beginning were quality viewing.

did anyone else notice that the play the ball was cleaner with a proper foot on the ball to play it. also with the way its reffed over there it was also a quick play the ball no spoiling or messing about.
maybe our game can learn from it by using up and coming refs to police the 10 metres and let the so called full time refs control the play the ball and be in overall control.

Well that was a huge let down. There seemed a real lack on intensity, big shots and agression. One of the poorest Origin games I have seen in some time.

NSW have to play Hayne at fullback and I would also play Lyon in the centres along with Idris.

Agree with your 2nd point also, Hayne to fb play Gidley at 6 and Lyon and Idris in the centres.

i have seen better SOO in the past but i'm sure game 2 and 3 will improve. hopefully no rain and better attacking play from NSW

with berro, fitz and o'meley i am stuck being a neutral but still enjoy the game nonetheless !!

wasnt a classic SOO, but still enjoyed the game, the SL looks like 3rd division rugby when you watch the SOO/NRL games, far far superior!

Thurston was superb but thought Sammy Thaiday was immense for the Maroons.

I dont think it was a poor game. It was quality skill wise. I know what you mean if you are refering to the apparent lack of big hits and aggression. I think the weather had a part to play and teams not too keen on running the ball up and prefering to kick more.

Looked like QLD had adopted Agars 5 up the middle and a kick! Smart in the circumstances though. I think QLD knew it would be a bit closer than normal and played it safe and both teams didnt want to do anything silly. Both sets of forwards were huge meaning big smashes are a lot harder to com by in the forwards though I bet they hurt just as much!

I thought Tom Learoyd-Lahrs played well and ran it up a the larger QLD forwards hard while also looking a lot more mobile for the drier conditions.

I am glad you saw that too, I have to say I have seen better Super league this season.. apart from one or two highlights i thought in the main it was very average indeed.
I think the weather helped this situation

Well Queensland look like to win the 5th straight series in a row because there a team not to be messed with, their hungry, want to win, want play for each other and most of all 1-17 are quality and well coached.
Wasnt the greatest SOO game ive seen but some great individual performances from Thaiday, he ran hard all game, tackled harder and even bagged a try. Civoniceva, for an old codger

made more yards then most superleague props could probably make in 2 games.
As for game 2, Haye needs to play FB, Lyon in the centres and man mountain Indris needs to be in the centres also, but for me in going to be nothing but a QLD win at the Suncorp...
And for the record, Ennis is the big t@t going, he looks like the Huddersfield Giants mascot.

Thaiday was solid and thurston was like a rash! but Civoniciva was also a beast - i was surprised to see such quality at his age - he has been around for donkeys years
