I enjoyed the recent Mark o Meley and Danny Wasbrook shows on KCFM but once I saw the line up for Wednesday with a Marketing and Foundation Officer I kind of guessed what kind of show they were putting on!

| Perhaps some fans are interested in what your Marketing and Foundation teams are doing to help improve your club?
Surely programmes like Airlie Night and Robins Night dont have to be purely about what happens on the pitch on a sunday afternoon.

Exactly.
Plus the content was advertised beforehand, so quite why people listened to it expecting something completely different is beyond me.

Some fans are yes. At the same time though the programme needs to be flexible enough to deal with topical things like the assistant coach walking out during the day. Fans wanted answers to that and got nothing.

Approximately how many, and when did you hold the survey?
It's a magazine program with a bi-weekly appearance from Rule to answer a handful of emails and calls. It isn't our own personal version of Watchdog and was never presented as such.

and that in itself may be the exact reason why the show gets so much negative press. Ive heard it knocked for James Rules spin and now it's knocked for dodging the difficult conversations about Dennis walking out. Maybe they should look at dealing with some of the difficult questions rather than pre-planned positive trumpet blowing?

What difficult questions? Just because a few people on the internet want to make something out of a pretty standard resignation doesn't mean that there are 'difficult questions'.
You really do need to take a step back and look at this rationally. The show is what it is - it's not intended to be some kind of rolling Fans Forum. Occasionally it will address contentious issues (although never to the satisfaction of everyone) and rumours that have been circulating, but Moore's resignation barely created a ripple anywhere but here and happened only a few hours before the show went out. It was highly unlikely that the guests last night would have known anything anyway.

I tend to step back and see most things rationally.
Do you honestly think its only the vocal people on the internet who want to make something out of a resignation? Do you not think that on the flip side to that each and every FC fan in the world wants to know whats going on with our club? (or are the thousands that dont post on RLFans all delighted with our clubs progress?)

Experience leads me to the conclusion that vocal people on internet forums represent the far end of the bell curve when it comes to outrage and paranoia. There hasn't been the merest [ihint[/i of a falling out between Agar and Moore. Every time they've been seen in public they've appeared relaxed and friendly. This is in stark contrast to what happened last year with JP, and yet people quickly jump to a conclusion not supported by any evidence and demand that 'difficult questions' are answered just hours later on a radio show with guests that were chosen weeks ago and who wouldn't have had any answers in any case.
This, to you, is rational?
You don't have to be delighted with the clubs progress to not be concerned about Moore's departure beyond hoping that it doesn't disrupt training any further. There are plenty of excellent reasons to be disenchanted with Agar and the way things are on the pitch - this just doesn't happen to be one of them.
On the larger issue, KCFM has been used to air fans concerns. The response is never satisfactory. It never will be. The show is hosted by the club's media manager. That should give you some idea of the kind of show it's intended to be. It's not the forum for the kind of debate that some fans want and it never will be.

I would however expect any issues of the day to form some part of the show and your assistant coach is a big deal.
I don't think for one minute anything controversial has gone on with Moore but I would have still expected the show to discuss it in some form as it was the big news of the day from within the club.
Regardless I still don't listen to the station as whatever they do they usually do it poorly.

It's rational to me to have other people on the show to take the questions that deal with important matter at the time to avoid it looking like the club are avoiding answering the questions. (no matter what guests are on the show pre-booked) This to me would be the correct approach to deal with the fallout prior to the rumour mills getting to full speed. Youre forgetting also that the clubs comms manager hosts the show on KCFM so all in all it feels like the perfect opportunity to open things up to the fans and answer the matters of the day.

| Either way... I'm sure kcfm lost listeners last night and can't imagine they gained any
I had started to listen to kcfm rather than gollum but last night showed it's watered down media spin and drivel.
For me it's bye bye kcfm.... About as much use as mens t!ts

I'm going to ask again - what questions? There was a statement by the club about Moore resigning with a direct quote from the man himself. What questions remain? What fallout? And Rule has [ispecifically[/i said that they aren't going to respond to every internet rumour.
And I'm not forgetting anything about who hosts the show. You seem to have some misapprehension regarding his primary function in doing so though. His job title says it all - he [imanages[/i communications. That's what he did yesterday.

Is it a big deal? I doubt the average fan could tell you his name or what he was responsible for. The club clearly aren't treating it as a big deal, so the club's media manager is hardly going to bring it up on the radio when he's already released an official statement to the press and on the website.
As far as the station is concerned, I listen to the commentaries as they are way less biased than Blunderside and I occasionally listen to Airlie Night if there's something on I might be interested in or I want to hear the latest pronouncements from Rule first hand. TBH if Airlie Night were to vanish without trace it would probably be an improvement - it generates far more controversy and ill feeling than it solves.

I think it's enough of a deal to talk about it on a show about the club. When do they plan to announce a replacement? Have they any criteria for the new person? This has happened twice now, is it a coincidence? There is already pressure on Agar, losing his no.2 will create more pressure, how will the club combat this?
All questions that could have been asked/answered.

| I can understand the points being raised here in fairness.
Primarily fans what to know about on the field matters and your Assistant leaving on the day of the show is something you would naturally want to know about.
On the flip side having spent the weekend with Clarky i know those guests were arranged well before Weds and it was an hour for them to showcase their involvement with Hull FC and let the fans know about another side of the club.
None of the people in the studio would probably been the right ones to answer questions about form or why Dennis left.
As Kosh rightly says the show differs from others in that it trys to cover a whole spectrum of aspects of the clubs.
Colin Hutton was the guest on Tuesday evening on Robin's Night but again was arranged a week beforehand so no coaches or players had to face the music about Rovers shambolic performance when the likeihood is that some fans wanted to hear why they were so poor.

Any questions the fans may have had on the day that their assistant coach walked out. Whether there's a statement or not it was amateur imo to not use the opportunity to discuss the Moore situation and take calls. Yes the show was pre-booked, however it would have been more prudent imo to show some flexibility and amend the agenda to give some time to the topical news.
I dont have any specific questions, i know lots of people do. Wouldnt it have been a better option for the club to want to openly discuss it rather than simply leaving a set agenda as it was thus fuelling rumours and making people think they dont want to talk about it?

Exactly my point really. Opportunity to discuss it rather than looking like you dont want to discuss it. (which probably isnt the intention but sometimes as a club we do ourselves no favours)
