Really impressive and something the new merged Academy must strive to be similar to in my opinion.

Can't this thread just be about the games? There's a thread for the merged academy already on the board. Does it really matter where Wigan's academy is to us?

Ahah didn't know that was round there so I apologize for not knowing and our set up is rather good thank you,tied into one of the leading colleges in Bishop Burton and doing rather well thanks.

It is not a patch on Wigan's place but still very good.

Perhaps with the savings made during the merger they can upgrade to the same level?

I have feck all to do with Wigan, I just happen to know how good the place is compared to Bishop Burton having visited and being shown around both.

You would not expect a lower mid table side to have the same academy set up as a champion team but Hull FC are not far off and that is down to Adam Pearson, Lee Radford and their staff.

As I said on another thread I do not recognise anything the RFL say, in this case their points scoring. They cannot organise themselves so I have no interest in how many points they have given one side over another.

An academy should be evalulated, in my opinion, by the number of players it has produced that are now playing in Super League or the Championships, not how many of it's kids handed in their homework on time (which is officially part of the criteria albeit worded a little differently).

Unfortunately I don't have the time or inclination. Good to hear though and I'm sure if they continue to do it one day it will filter through to the playing side

U19s beat Cas away 44-18. Good effort missing Abdull, Logan, Lancaster and Dean.

Hull v Rovers Tonight at Bishop Burton-7-00pm possibly the last ever derby between the Clubs at any level other than first team. The end of decades of Colts, Juniors, A team and Academy Derby's. So far not a mention on the Club site anyone would think they don't want anything to do with their under 19's anymore or indeed want anyone to go!! The only advertising at all so far by noon on game day was this morning from the College themselves on twitter!

Last home game Wilf, there is another one later in the year.

Under 19s are twenty nil up at halftime. dominated the half. Rovers reduced to hopeful high kicks. Hulls goal line defence excellent when called upon

Another win for the U19s, 24-18, Was 24-6 until two very late consolation tries. Think I saw that makes 5 consecutive Derby wins for us?

Good 1st half but dead average 2nd. Made too many errors and bad decisions. Thankfully rovers were pretty useless with ball in hand as they had a ton of possession in our 20. Amazing that abdul and logan actually look better at SL level than they do u19's. After his performance at rovers you would think abdul would rip it up but guess it's easier when you have better players around you

Was there anyone in the Rovers side that impressed or are some of our talented lads going to be pushed to one side just to accommodate the Dobbins.

Or Rovers U19s are better than their first team.

To be honest there didn't look much in either side. Maybe the not merger is the right thing to do but I don't personally think they'll bring both together and have some super team who will beat everyone else at a canter
