When he came to the club we were desperate for a SH and many (including myself) said even an average half back would make us competitive. IMO Thorman was an average SL half back when he came to Hull, and within the period of a year he has gone from average to abysmal, but is it all his fault? I’m pretty sure the likes of Lee and Hall would have gone up to the next level at any other club, Tansey must have rocks in his head signing for us!

He was barely average last season for Hudds. And it took him 6 whole games to go from barely average to depressingly poor. In fact his form for the first 5 games was up and down - he was anonymous at Celtic for instance.

While his decline was possibly accentuated by the overall situation here, the fact is that he just isn't good enough for SL any more.

I'm not surprised he's been told he's not getting a contract.

I would be surprised if he's been told he's played his last game.

We have three games left to go and no specialist half backs.

If we play Thorman he may pull his finger out knowing its the only chance he has of getting a contract somewhere else for next season.

Also it would avoid a player we want to keep for next season getting injured in meaningless matches.

People are placing too much blame on Thorman, yes he has been poor, but Horne has been nearly as bad, not many of the squad come out of this season with much credibility.

Feel sorry for the guy as i dont think he is as bad as his performances at Hull have been. It doesnt help playing behind a beaten pack with very no gamplan and 90% of your colleagues are pssionless and total garbage.

It was pretty obvious at the start of the season that he was only at Hull for a year. He has been a decent enough player in the past but not good enough now.

That reads that he is still available for selection if injuries dictate.

Feel a bit sorry for him but agree im glad he's going. Shocking recruitment to bring him in in the first place but then shocking team selections and tactics havent helped him on behalf of Agar.

Would just like to say good luck to him in the future. I support every player that plays in black and white, and i feel, at times, he has been unfairly chastised by some of the fans - whilst at others he has been pathetic and deserved being dropped.

Fully agree, but Horne is a local lad playing in his testimonial year, so he could play naff and rub dog $hite in the faces of all supporters and still be not to blame for any of our failings this year

If you mean James, he's doing very well.

I do believe he is now a coaching assessor with the RFL as well as playing at Widnes. That has to be much better than reserve grade at Hull KR or even worse first team at Hull FC

How has he been treated badly? He has been woeful this season and for the last dozen or so games has basically been taking the pi$$ out of the shirt. We can all agree the team as a whole have been grabage and the "tactics" etc have been crap but that doesn't mean we should all pretend Thorman deserves our respect after some of the heartless displays he has put in this season.

It says everything about the club that its taken until 3 games to go for the coach decide that Thorman isnt going to play again. The decision should have been made around round 7 or 8 nevermind now. Nothing personal but Thorman has been the worst signing I've seen in my 8 season supporting the club and I can't see how he is going to get another contract in SL. While many others have also been terrible for us this season, Thorman has been the worst, and he rightly attracts the criticism he has been recieving. However, the personal abuse that he has been starting to get in the past few games he has played is completely wrong and the club should have done something to try and protect him from such abuse
