| Well, what a day.
Agar to leave at the end of the season (just about guaranteed when AP took over). Although I will not be sorry to see Agar leave his position, I actually do have a mild degree of sympathy for his plight. The previous board of directors should have done their job properly and not put Agar into this position of not being welcome by the fans.
McRae in as DOR. Its an odd role this, would like to know what it actually entails. A certain Chinese restaurant proprietor in Cottingham will be rubbing his hands with bomers return to the area
Oh, and O'Carroll signing

Well spotted - I did myself - Adam Pearson is the sole owner of Hull FC and all businesses these days have Directors be they young CEO's or accountants. Shaun Macrae - Adam Pearsons first Director.

| Absolutely chuffed to bits with this news. For me it was a wise move by Pearson, as someone posted earlier Pearson doesn't have a lot of rugby knowledge so to get someone in as DOR was a very shrewd move, moreso for it to be McRae, think Pearson has taken on board the thoughts of the fans and acted accordingly. As for Shaun, as long as he feels he can do the job to the best of his ability he gets my vote (hope it will not put him under undue pressure again) will now wait for the next piece of the jigsaw to 'Gently' fall into place and that is the coach. Maybe this news is why we have seen an upturn in the mood amonst the players on the pitch, just a thought.

| Been reflecting on how to put my thoughts tastefully. Obviously, from a Hull FC point of view, I see Agar's departure as good news, but it's still unkind to revel in somebody losing their job. I do still genuinely believe that he worked hard and tried his best, he just wasn't up to it. I agree with MMJ that the previous board did him no favours in the eyes of the supporters by keeping him on for too long and basically made him a target of fans' increasing anger and frustration, so much so that he was beyond the point of salvaging it no matter what happened. Maybe a change of surroundings will do him as much good as it will us.
Glad to see McRae back at the club, but also glad that it's not in a coaching capacity. I think that way would only spoil the memory of his last spell as I don't think he could do the job we need as a coach, but as a proper Director of Rugby I think it could work really well for us. I certainly expect improvement in bringing players through to SL standard going forward.
If we do get Peter Gentle, it will definitely show that we're serious. I can't remember the last time there was either a player or coach available that was attracting interest from/linked to multiple clubs that we won the race for. He seems to have a good reputation and CV too.

Agree with what you say.Bomber has stated he does not want a coaching job,as I put elsewhere,I believe he stated it in League Weekly.
I admit I do not want to give Agar a character assassination as he seems a decent bloke. All the same I am glad we are moving on.
