Holdsworth and Ellis add real X Factor to the job IMO, and will be clear for all to see having class specialists in place like those, the final piece in the jigsaw is Chase for me although given an off season operation and so on I still think Seymore has tons to offer ......
Still hope Horne will go FB next season , he looked class at weekend even though i think he is past it as a runner, his angles were superb against Cas
Agree about the agar bit
there would have been a riot on here

I like Watts, & Pitts and I think our young ones Green & Bowden look great prospects, though I fear we lack grunt up front, so hope we keep Orgre. I think must have been watching a different Horney on Saturday, suppose we all see different things though.

Agree we do need some new power up front although i do think that Ellis brings that as well because he is never shy of taking the ball up is he, watts will only get better and he is a big unit ....
agree about green and bowden though they are a future to be proud of

I hope its not Sammut too. He's just not good enough.
However I do know that the old regime tried very hard to sign him when he was at Crusaders. Hopefully AP and PG have more sense.

I think we would be better off keeping Seymour than signing Sammut if Chase deal falls through.

| I would prefer Sammut over Seymour. Loads more flair and I think he'll do a good job if he signed, as we keep saying in PG we trust and if he sees enough of him to sign him then I'll judge him in a Hull shirt.

Why Seymour is a proven failure in an FC shirt. Not good enough as Pearson has made quite clear.

If we can't get Chase or someone of that calibre I would also keep Seymour than sign Sammut. Seymour may do better with a different half back partner.

got to agree smiggs not a top 4 half, and a dodgy knee ,samutt would be a real good option if chase can not get his visa for FC, off the cuff sort of player similar to chase in many ways ,the only other option would be Arron herm to 7 hes played their this year and done a really good job

| DJ and Seymour wouldnt work imo.
It would be a big risk signing Sammut but on his day he can be a hell of a threat in the red zone.

| Jarrod Sammut couldn't hold down a regular half-back spot at the Crusaders or Bradford. He was behind Ben Jeffries at Bradford FFS. Quite why anyone would see him as an adequate back-up option to Rangi Chase beats me. He's not in the same league.
People say Chase is 'off the cuff' and he is to a point. But he also knows what he is doing - he's pulling defenders out of position, putting doubt in their minds and creating gaps for his teammates. He plays a team game. Sammut might also be 'off the cuff', but one great individual try every 10 weeks doesn't make him a team player. He'd certainly be no substitute for Chase.
I'm still hopeful we'll pull the Chase deal off. With him, we'll challenge for silverware and he'll put bums on seats - helping drive AP's 14,500 average attendance vision. But if we don't get him I'd rather stick with Seymour than go for Sammut.

| Agree with Mars, Sammuts been relying on the try at millennium for his reputation, Seymour would be a better option.
Hope we wait as long as possible for Chase though, he is the key for me. Nothing is stopping us looking at alternative in the interim, I would hope we are now, but I'm willing to wait.

the kids an up an comming lad not worth anythin like that ,hes not even proven his worth yet, you could buy all HKR team for 200k and the club lock stock and debt., if FC offered 100k they would snap our hands off and its a disgrace that the last board where so tight with the purstrings for the young lads that a FC kid even went their in the 1st place, if we had offered him the same as KR he would have joined us, lessons to take on board i hope for the future

| Martin Aspinwall will not be offered a contract you can understand that, but its a shame he's done a good job. He also said that Chase was extremely unlikely and it was so complicated and personal but it was alot down to the player himself, either Peter out or be a decision very quickly and McGoldrick still up in the air, but someone would have to go if he remains. Moa unlikely to play ( Shaun McRae on Sports talk).

Signing for Leigh I've heard. He's done a great job for us and cannot fault him, but Galea is a better player and I reckon some of his salary has gone to make up the deal announced today.

Agreed. Very solid player for us, Aspinwall, but I guess seen as a blocker to our younger players coming through. Wish him all the best.
