Someone on the HDM webiste (I know) has stated we are after Antony Quinn from the Storm, dont watch much NRL these days so not sure what he is like? Has played SOO and was named in the Aus squad a couple of years ago, not sure if he is a winger or more of a centre though.

With the Storm salary cap issues you could see this maybe happening but we dont have room on the quota unless Berrigan goes?

He's not up to much dave, would be a bad buy IMO.

Have to say I disagree, Quinn has always looked to me like he would do really well over here. He carries the ball strongly and breaks tackles. Given how we utilise wingers on our exit sets I think he'd be a good fit for us.

Hasn't done that bad over the recent weeks though!

A new 6/7 pair is what is needed and should be above anything else on the 'To Buy' list

we have one of the best 6 and 7 combinations in the league, we just need to get them fit and on the field together

If Horne gets his early season form back I would agree with that BDT. Long and Horne complement each other very well.

I agree that we need a centre and a back rower, assuming Tickle is leaving which I think he is.

Quinn is an underrated winger, really strong and a good finisher, of course we don't have a quoa spot though unless someone leaves.

Agree our attack is behind some teams. But you know progress is being made when the likes of yourself start worrying about how the tries are being scored and not the fact that they aren't being scored at all. Great stuff keep it up.

Agree, just look at the SL table. We are 200 points behind the teams around us. Over 16 games thats bad, over 2 trys a game

So long as we score more points than our opposition in every match, the fact that we're two tries a game behind the rest of the top six doesn't make one shred of difference. All the table shows is that you can still do well without scoring a bagfull of points.

That said, it would be a much better spectacle if we did score a hatful every game !

Not really, I worry about the fact that the top sides can stick 50 and 60 points on the poorer sides while we huff and puff to put 20 on them.

The post was in response to someone suggesting we are a great attacking side, my points were suggesting otherwise. We play a % game which is why we're not a great attacking side and won't be under teh current coach

We also took Widnes to the cleaners that season too.

I'm not sure that we do TBH. I think we at least [itry[/i to play an attacking game but still make too many errors to score as many points as we should. You made the point yourself that we fail to convert breaks to tries with the regularity of the top scoring sides, but we are at least making breaks now. Similarly the fact that we tend to score from inside the opponents 20 is a marked improvement to the situation of the last few seasons when we were particularly clueless and inept in that part of the pitch.

We need better backs to score more tries. If we recruit well this off season I'm reasonably confident that we'll see a better return next year.

I responded to someone referring to Yeaman passing more but not backing up play enough. I said that Tansey does this, and he does it very well with his runs off Long for example makes a break and releases his winger/centre at the right time....
In response to me saying we are 'a great attacking side', i actually said 'Our attacking play and flair can be exceptional [size=150at times[/size this season, up there with the best but our defence still needs work'. We will improve when we have a full first team out, try supporting your team for a change instead of rubbishing them at every occasion!
