Try reading mine. We should have gone for some fixtures to install confidence. Bizarre that we havent. We won 1 out of our last 10.

You cant tell me your really happy with this pre season.

It doesn't matter that they're not all first teamers, for example with Shaul. Now Connor is injured, Shaul would be the man to replace him, and he is injured. Bowden isn't a first teamer, but he is next in line when any of our props get injured so is still a crucial loss. We end up with 3rd choice full back and 8th choice prop as our best options.

Winning pre-season games means nothing. We could have played five and won the lot but it wouldn't mean we'd beat Wakefield.

Must admit I’m wondering about the pre season plan as not sure what purpose the games we’ve played are actually serving other than giving the young hopefuls a run. I know we have injuries but we are now going into the start of the season a first team that’s not exactly had any useful game time as a team unit, just seems to have been a bit rudderless.

Completely disagree. We have a squad of 30 odd and half are injured. Playing more fixtures with18 year olds against some part time clubs wouldn't help. I've already said the pre season has been a disaster. Manu Ma'u's injury sums that up.

Actually thought the young players had a good dig today, minutes 41-50 apart.

Men against boys 2nd half which was to be expected with respective teams.

Positives where Fash and Brown who were outstanding.

I don't think I've seen a player with a bad a kicking game as McNamara is a long time.

Need bodies back or we are in for a really long season.

Hodgson has been unlucky with the injuries but i wonder if he will make it through the season given the pressure he is likely to come under.
What is evident is that none of the younger group are anywhere near first team level so we still have this massive gap between first team and back up players

Injuries the obvious concern but also lack of match fitness. Even if we get 7 players back for start of the season then half of the team won't have played a minute of (semi) competitive rugby for 4 months. Going to be a tough start to the season.

Agree. I was worried that this would be a real problem. Didn't think it would be before the season has started though!

Indeed no Reynolds, Gale, Connor, Griffin, Satae, Sao, Savelio, Cator, Taylor is 9 first 17 players out plus Evans makes 10. Then the likes of Bowden, Shaul also not been available to fill the holes just compound things.

Thought the young lads did well against a practically full strength Leeds side and showed they have a lot of potential. Think seeing Litten stew here’s off affected them a little bit abc took about 20 mins to settle back down.

Agree Fash and Brown played well along with Lane. Thought Johnstone had real opportunity to prove himself in this game but just didn’t do much of anything sadly. Also agree about McNamaras kicking was pretty poor as there was nothing to test Leeds.

Probably still two years to see more maturity but for me he is not a star of the future for the club certainly not as a half back.

Injuries are the pits as we Trinity fans know, by mid 2019 we were starting to look like real outside contender then two seasons of solid relentless injuries, it destroyed us. Nobody remembers that moment now and why would they the chance is now long gone.

There is just nothing you can do when the injury hoodoo hits. The only positive I can offer is that it gives fringe players a chance to shine. As Gareth Ellis states if it hadn’t been for a massive player shortage at Trin he’d probably never have gotten the chances he did.

Let’s hope your coach knows how to inspire youngsters, though not when you play us

I think they have completed games with a broken hand, I can’t think of a player being selected with a broken hand but I may be wrong.

Connor injury did not look good live. I actually thought ligament damage to wrist. Broken bone might actually be better!
Hope Litten ok too and all precautionary. i've not heard a hit sound like that in a long, long time. Absolute hospital pass and was running 100mpmh into a man mountain. I actually thought the tackle was legal, and hopefully juts whiplash injury. Brave lad.
Onto the actual game obs. Men against boys in the pack and not reflective of your fit pack. Fash and Lane look too small to me at this level.
However your backline was smoother than ours for first 20 minutes. Gale is just class and upgrade on Sneyd++. If you can somehow wrap him in cotton wool it will determine your season. I wish we'd have kept Gale.
