It [iwas[/i hot in the East stand today, with the sun beating on one's skull all match.

West stand corporate area was pretty empty , but I guess if you charge £45 for seats there, people won't pay it and will sit elsewhere. Fair play to those who forked out. But more didn't than did and I suspect a fair few of those who didn't, didn't go at all

Why would it be any more. In the circumstances a poor FC side against a poor leeds side with both teams having monkeys at the helm , the game being on the box , weather really good , beer at the KC £3.60 a pint , hardly any liklihood that we would progress despite the state of the Leeds team etc etc . With hindsight the commentary of Ray French was the only thing that may have persuaded me to go to the game but all too late - he was awful though.
At least AP knows the problem now - we ain't good enough at any level. Big job!

I have been stating on here for weeks that recent SL games have had their crowds 'inflated' by the club, and several dismissed my comments.

today with no pass-holders counter we saw what the 'true' gates have been recently and they have dropped at an alarming rate.

I hope Pearson does his best 'Sir Alan' on Agar in the boardroom tomorrow and we can begin a new era and watch the crowds return.

I thought it was a decent gate with regard to attandances across the competition as a whole.

A lot will of course prefered to watch the game on the tv.

The crowd looks more paltry when it is somewhat less than half the stadium capacity.

I could see where we normally sit and there were about 3 people in that area. Not sure about the other side of the directors box, as I couldn't see. Was it really that bad?

Despite the numbers I thought the atmosphere was better than it has been for a while. Think they need to go back to unreserved in the East Stand, maybe just keep Chav Corner reserved or empty.

Said on friday it would be less than 10K and i was right, not suprising at all, and after that shocking 2nd half yesterday totally understandable, pathetic.

Or police it better and make the gap between them and the away fans bigger, but I agree with the rest.

Sack Agar, freeze season ticket prices, make the south end of the East Stand unreserved, introduce imaginative marketing. All that couple with a good start to next season and the crowds will come back.

Pearson knows that we are capable of reaching 15,000 on average. He's already spoke about how attendances have falled by about 2,000. It was was refreshing to hear that because the club have been silent about such matters (and this year's season ticket sales).

Im sorry but 'Chav corner' as you call it was the only area of the ground which ever generated what little atmosphere we used to have, making East reserved has completly killed it, another stupid decision from the previous board as well as switching to Friday nights,

I am sure some of the reasons given are valid but looking at our company car park today its a quarter empty because of schools finishing on Friday so dont underistimate the amount of people who may have just been away.

To be honest it doesn't seem a bad figure for televised CC games these days. Few clubs are filling grounds for those.

Without wishing to pish on anybody's bonfire (actually, thats probably exactly what I want to do), here are the attendance for the last three years worth of Quarter finals. Other than the Wigan v Wire attendance, ours was the 2nd highest of 12.

Can't be bothered to go back any further but I'd assume its a similar story

The Saints attendance is pretty shocking imo.

Sad that we didn't make the 10,000 mark - if we'd have put in a good performance against Leeds the week before in SL, I think we may have put another 2,000 on yesterdays crowd (personal opinion).

Looked a decent attendance on the TV and the atmosphere sounded good.

Sure there will have been more if the game had not been on TV, but a fresh coaching set up will increase numbers by 2k instantly I would have thought.
