WOW talk about negative imput

1) Get rid of the likes of Cusack, Dowes and Radford (or at least two of them) and improve our front row with at least one quality prop............. FAILED why failed?? [uCusack went , Radford was consistently a banger all season and dowes is rarely injured so in those two we have the stoppers and in Fitz, Omeley, Moa and Hame we have rotational yard makers[/u you have to have players who can do the ugly stuff in every team!
2) We needed at least one half-back and also some cover there.........FAILED [uwhy failed??
we have Long who is super fit right now, Horne a match away at best so we have our starting halves and then Turner, Westerman and some young guns who can step in if needed whats the issue??[/u
3) We needed to solve our right centre problem and get some strike out there..........FAILED ???? [uWe have two cracking centres already in yeaman and Whiting with a number of players who can cover if needed ??[/u 4) Berrigan leaving was rumoured for a while and welcomed by many(especially me) but we needed to spend his salary on some quality............FAILED

5)We also needed to get someone in who can spell Houghton (possibly linked to the HB cover)..FAILED [uWashy??[/u
But we have brought in a winger, another backrower and a utility back that no club wants !

[uWTF No one wanted westerman and sharp?? and Phelps has been in the system for us for over a month mate!! and all this crap being spouted about he was selling himself on twitter is bizarre at best , the lad is a cracking player that can play from 1-7 if needed with a proven record and as it happens a great full back , i shall return to this comment after the first 5/6 games see what u say then [/u
Sharp and Westerman both have talent and potential but do we really think that we have any chance whatsoever of challenging towards the top of SL this year ??

Wasting your time mate trying to make the 'half empty' fans to think anything but pessimism , that's just how some people are. I personally believe that this season will probably mirror last season.

We never seem to keep a squad fit, the main problem we have this season is our depth. Im pretty sure you will see us plummet down the table if we lose Long, Phelps, Horne & Westerman/Fitzy long term.

We are well overdue a season that injuries don't hit us as hard. If we can keep our squad fit, we might finish top 4 (I won't shout that too loudly, though, I might be attacked by a pessimist!

I think it's plain to see that we've not strengthened in some areas that we needed to and that is disappointing. We do still have a competetive squad though when we dont have injuries to key positions which is the risk. (and likely to bite us in the backside at some point)

The main question for me to ask though in relation to the failures above which i actually agree with is 'how many were failures due to us not acting and how many were failures because things just didnt work out?'

For example we cant magically make a centre or a halfback appear of the right quality and for the right price. I'm pretty sure the club will have been looking, they made a statement didnt they several months ago that they would have to focus more on 2012 recruitment because no one was available for 2011?

the recriutment has been good but all we need now is a young british backup half (gareth moore) and we still have alot of monet left over to add to the squad if someone comes available.

I doubt very much that Phelps has come for a year on peanuts, the only way to attract someone for a one year contract is to throw money at them, especially someone who is as brilliant as some on here are suggesting?

Also, we don't know what sacking Tansey has cost us.

If we did mate,we could afford whoever we wanted,and still be in the black.

Interesting as I haven't seen one post that suggests Phelps is Brilliant.

Phelps didn't have a deal anywhere so i doubt that he will be on that hight a wage, he will be on Ok money.

He didnt really have a choice due to know one signing him and his injuries, this is better than not working at all and allows himself to be put into the shop window for 2012 or earn another contract at Hull.

Don't know what we are paying Phelps. On the one hand we were desperate for a full back but on the other he was desperate for a job! I expect both parties to have been reasonable.

As Tansey was dismissed for disciplinary reasons I doubt we paid him anything. I certainly hope not

Correct , prior to his injury he was outstanding, not the most comfy under the high kick aparently but kick returns are as fast as anyone in SL and he runs like a 7th forward when running into traffic so all round hard case it seems with speed..

Well posters saying he is better than Tansey, who many claimed was good enough for international football is kind of suggesting he is pretty damn good.
