Amazing evaporation of confidence over about 4 games. We haven't been great at any time this season but we look like a bunch of strangers. Some forwards are hiding IMO Watts in particular is not playing up to the grade but not the only one. Tickle had a mare and DJ's distribution was a joke at times and since losing Rich Horne we don't have any direct threat. It's harsh on Miller to come into this because there's not much to play off and he clearly has areas of improvement in his game to address.

Bad time to be devoid of confidence and under the pump like this - we heard how we would get better from early season but the winning run appears like a freak the way things have turned. Selection for Sunday will be interesting because I can think of three forwards and a centre who I would be leaving out for an extended period. This is PG's biggest test now it's no longer pre-season/early season - we are at the business end and appear to lack ideas and cohesion and most worryingly of all an ability to maintain any kind of level of intensity in attack or defence for more than two or three sets.

Obviously it would be better judged at seasons end, but 2/3rds of the way through the season it may be prudent to ask, have hull even developed on last season?

We've had alot chest beating, what with all the signings an all, but had it not been for Ganson Gate 2 the revenge, hull would be in 8th place, clinging on to a position in the playoffs with the same inconsistency that has plagued them for the last 5 or 6 years.

I'll half join you. He was one of our better forwards, particularly in his 2nd stint, but I think it said more about those around him than how well he actually played. Should not be a focus of criticism tonight (at least in terms of his performance), but still didn't make a compelling case to convince me he's worth a place in our 17.

One of the best forwards on the pitch tonight, worked his socks off to keep us in the game.

His weight loss has not helped. A problem with our relatively small forwards is that it makes us massively dependent upon them out-enthusing the opposition. We're seeing that as soon as we let our intensity/effort drop even slightly, we're getting battered because we don't have enough size/strength to fall back on.

Agree with you there. But at least it was an improvement tonight which tbh can't be to bad then the rest who couldn't be bothered.

Probably our best prop all-round tonight, although that's not really saying much. O'Meley the best taking it in, though, was again the only aggression we had.
