Stuck up for Agar a bit this season and I still think he has done well, a one year deal would have been Ok for me.

Really disapointted with the tatics in the last 15 minutes of the game, needing 2 trys and we still continued to paly one man rugby for the first 4 tackles, the biggest game of the season, nothign to lose, so throw the ball about FFS.

Also still no official word on why Tansey was dropped?

Really missed our best attacking player, could have made a big different IMO.

Maybe no news on Tansey as they have had to arrange a meeting with him regarding his future, hopefully he will be given one last chance.

I agree about the offloading, we were chasing the game so should have been offloading the ball and creating 2nd phase possession but we just kept it tight. Leeds showed how to chase a game. Obviously you don't just chuck it around anywhere and need to complete your sets but surely we could have got our arms free, backed up and created some momentum by keeping the ball alive. Safety first again I am afraid.

Agar has had long enough to build his team and until recently I thought we were heading in the right direction in terms of signings and retention etc. The decision yo give Radford a 2 year deal is just beyond ridiculous as that money is now essentially wasted for the next 2 years. I've never been convinced by Agar as a coach but the recruitment appeared to be a big positive. Unless we bring in some more ball handlers our style of play will never improve, it's all well and good saying Agar plays a style dependant on the players available to him but he has had the chance to change the players available. If we don't see some ball players brought in our attack will be just as poor next year. Even allowing for Long and Horne to have a better run with injuries we won't improve much if at all. Hornes passing is shocking and Fitz shouldn't be used as a ball playing LF as his passing isn't great either.

Maybe Agar should have too before making that comment, then. We've already missed out on some signings, so he perhaps shouldn't be promising things he might not be able to deliver.

Agar did, he said we will be bringing in halfback cover for sure. What he would not say is who it was as things can change even at last minute with regards to recruitment.

Me too. If KH rang me today and said right it's your call what would you do I would say go and sign a top coach from down under or even Brian Noble. Change the structure right from the youth to first grade. Then give him a three year contract and let him have the final say on all playing matters. However that won't happen.

Tbh it should not happen either as Rich has earnt himself another year, he got rid of some poor players and recruited some good ones. He has taken us from 12th to 6th and we were unlucky not to get 4th after the Radford red card. He seems to have grown into the role a bit more this season, I like what he says after matches and he also is standing for no ill discipline with the players. He now has a good no.2 who will bring ideas and is hungry. He still has to improve again and take us on further but with some decent recruitment now and hopefully a positive off season where we can try to improve our style of play he can do this.

I don't think he will turn us into a champion team but right now he has to turn us into challengers and this season we have challenged for the top 4 and I would have taken that at the start of the season.

I don;t think he has earned another year. Effectively all he has done is give us 6 more wins this season and they have not exactly been emphatic wins either.

Maybe the opposition has improved on last season (I actually believe it has). When all is said and done last season we finished 11 this year 6th (very unlucky to miss out on 4th), no matter how posters dress it up the maths speak for themselves we have improved.

Neither did Cod'ead really, I just thought you jumped on his comment a bit. With Agar saying our squad will have more balance and cover when we've only had confirmation of it being smaller, it's perfectly reasonable to wonder where from.

Not denying we have improved and so we should have we the players we brought in the fact is our rugby has not really progressed this season. We have continued to play the same type of rugby no matter what the score of the game is. That to me is down to poor coaching one way or another.

I think possibly the top 3 have, but TBH the rest of SL as a whole has steadily deteriorated for the last 2 or 3 seasons.

How did I jump on him, all I did was answer his question. When the recruitment is finalised and announced then we will be able to give our opinions on it. As to where it comes from, that's RA and the clubs problem and what they get paid to do.

Funny McRae was saying that if your Plan A is not working you need to have a Plan B, C & D and I think most fans will agree we have a Plan A, A & A

Maybe the first step was to get a strong pack and stop getting beat every week. Maybe RA thought we needed to become hard to beat, which we have in the main, and use it as a base.

With a more settled squad for next season apart form the odd addition maybe he can now develop the philosphy further and become a better footballing side rather than just hard to beat. Perhaps that is why he is targetting players with ball skills and kicking skills.

I disagree, for me the crux of the problems have been the h/backs or lack of them.

I agree, however my biggest concern is our h/backs fitness etc.

Have we become hard to beat though? Maybe at home to a point but away from home we have been as poor as the previous season. The amount of close defeats we suffered last season compared to the amount of close wins we have had this season tells me very little has changed except we are sneaking those tight close games more.
