IF SKY put the links on Youtube then its fine or say on the SL website, if Joe Bloggs does it aint

So much so that poster used to refer to it as 'That famous Video upload site' as they were concerned they could not say YOU TUBE without being pulled up on it!!

Hutchie's post more or less covers it. Linking to copyrighted material is illegal unless you have the permission of the copyright owner. Plenty of stuff on YouTube is posted there without that permission, and linking to it is breaking the law. If the clip owner posts it the the permission is assumed as it's a public site.

Clips posted on company websites (like SKY or the SL) are a grey area as some companies object to linking due to bandwidth issues and/or the fact that it takes traffic away from their site.

This isn't theoretical stuff BTW - the site has had letters from lawyers in the past and simply can't afford legal action against it.

The Sin Bin is a special case - so many dodgy links were being posted that a blanket ban on YT links was introduced as it just wasn't possible to check each one. On here the Mods tend to check the clip first and act accordingly.

I appreciate this will be of limited interst but there's everychance that Alaister Cook could go 300 against India in the next 20 minutes or so. I know the Indian bowling attack is missing a couple, but this is a superb effort from Cook.

We said the same he made some good ground and looked lively...Bradford did not look too bad the 1st half but the 2nd half they seemed pretty clueless!

Even in the first half they didn't get anything like the return they should have for the amount of possession they enjoyed. Their halves and the poor lad standing in at hooker had no clue. I reckon they could have played another 80 minutes and still not crossed the whitewash.
