| This is the problem, you can't know how many tickets the opposing teams are going to sell until later on. Sure you could wait but what if they are all gone for where you want or completely sold out or as per usual somehow leaving odd single seats because of the way the tickets are allocated so you can't sit next to each other.
if this is going to be the usual turn out by supposed best supported teams (Wigan hardly brought any last year) then they might as well just give the best away supported team the home draw.
So that's us pretty much isn't it?
All of East for FC and North stand for Leeds on a sunday afternoon, easily 15k+ and Leeds would have brought the same amount as going to keepmoat.

Or maybe be revolutionary about it and have a semi-final double header, £30 a ticket, hold it at somewhere central with a good stadium and entire package for the matchday. Both games back to back would increase the interest within the game and maybe encourage new fans to go along for the spectacle, it would push up the crowd (especially from a neutral perspective) and the TV audience would be treated to a double header of games that actually mean something as a combination (so long as the BBC would allow their whole BBC 2 afternoon to be dedicated to it instead of their usual rubbish)

Do you know how many have been sold Jake? Seems odd we'd get that allocation.

Why? No segregation needed at RL games, we don't need to go down the football route, surely?

Given that the City fan got a 3 year banning order for throwing a bottle I hope anyone thinks long and hard about starting any trouble.

fans-2.30 kick off-beers-emotions run high could equal trouble
magic weekend both our fans and leeds fans have let the clubs down last couple of years, also leeds fans fighting at wembley too
i reckon there will be an empty block or at least half of one between both sets of fans

I love this idea. Similar to magic but more than 2 points at stake. Could of nearly filled Huddersfield with both semis. Would maybe be the shot in the arm cup needs. Would the BBC cover nearly 4hrs of league in one day though

Quaint idea, but not reality.
It's naive to think there will not be some Leeds fan who will bring up the uprooting of the posts in 2000 and that some Hull fan will not respond.
Why risk it? Segregation all day long.

Elland Road maybe, still a neutral ground and now it's back in Leeds United hands they may be keen to make money from it where possible. And it's got a bit of Hull FC history attached to it too...

Home advantage is meaningless in pro sports (for reasons I've explained previously) and elland road isn't headingly. Sure you'd get more Leeds fans than if it were at the keepmoat/KCOM but the reality is the venue in itself with respect to playing performance means nothing.
otherwise why have we lost more at home than away and our really poor performances were at home?

Elland Rd is a horrific ground. I'm 5' 1" and even I struggled with leg room when we went to the 4 Nations Final there years ago. My much taller friend had to watch the game on the concourse as she simply couldn't sit down.

I'm interested in what you say. Why do you think home advantage is meaningless in pro sport, when pretty much every single set of stastics displays that home wins occur more often than away wins. Every now and then an individual team might throw an an anomoly for a short period, but the trends certainly show that home games definitely are an advantage?

Oh he'll be sure. He's that arrogant, he actually believes the guff he writes and that despite there being no evidence or facts to back up his opinion, we should all deem it credible & not challenge it.
Of course, numerous studies have been conducted by academics into home advantage in sports and found there to be a number of contributing factors. Home crowd influence on the players & officials, travel, "home comforts" etc.
There are anomalies (like us this year), it's not a rule, but the general trend supports home advantage.
Take the Premier League for the 1617 season:
www.soccerstats.com/homeaway.asp?league=england
The vast majority of teams had a higher win rate, more points, more goals scored and less goals conceded at home. Look at Burnley, Spurs, Leicester and even Hull City.
In SL so far this year, only three sides have a better away record than home record (us, Wakey & Hudds).

Here's a link to the subject if anyone is bored enough... https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2008/ ... tmonthly16
If you're fairly bored, here's an extract...
Quote But baseball remains the sport where home advantage counts for least. Indeed, baseball is the only major sport that has occasionally seen seasons during which away teams actually won more games than the home teams (for example, in 1972 the home winning percentage for all teams in the National League across nearly 1,000 games was a mere 49.4 per cent). No season in the history of English League football has even come close - the lowest recorded level of home advantage was 55.8 per cent in what was then the Third Division in 1993-94, and that looks like a statistical freak.'"

Pah, you can prove anything with stats
Our home form (or lack of) is an odd one though. I'm sure I remember Radders alluding to it last season that perhaps the players felt under more pressure to perform at the KCOM in front of our fans.
