We have tolerated average for far too long. There are too many average players at the club. We all know who they are. We need to get rid and replace them with players who are consistently good enough to play SL, week in, week out.

There is a lot of evidence to suggest he's crap, but anyone who follows the club beyond a superficial level and followed his career as a youngster will recognise he is not a crap player.

He's a player, for whatever reason, hasn't met his potential. There's a lot of time for him yet and with better caoching and guidance i expect he'll do OK.

Anyway, long story short we disagree.

He's not crap. This season he has been pretty good. He and Houghton compliment each other well but we have Berrigan so one of the other two has to go.

I never said we need to retain him, i said he was average, not cr@p.

He can go for me.

Scott Moore is also playing in a good side with good players and more importantly a top quality coach.

Tom on the other hand has the misfortune of being at Hull FC

Was just about to say the same about Scott Moore. These two used to be the half back partnership for GB under 18's and both struggled when thrust into the first team. If onyl Tommy had the coaching that Moore has had and he may have been pushing for international honours

Im not going to start banging on about him being better than Berro this season.

In a nutshell.

Maybe Scott Moore was always destined to be better than Lee. Maybe he was always a better player ? Maybe he has worked harder ? Maybe he has a better work ethic ? All speculation of course.

But it suits to just blame the club!

Well its no coincidence that his potential nosedived at the same time as the whole clubs potential nosedived. He has already played under three different head coaches in his short time at first team level and at a time where they have been in total disarray on the field.

I couldn't care less about Hull FC in all honesty but i hate to see young British talent ruined by crass mismanagement. Yes he may not be as good as i and others think, but imo its too early to cast him aside as your great club seem to be doing. Some of the utter cack spoken on here about certain players lack of ability beggers belief at times.

If he goes to Salford as rumoured are you going to suggest Bomber is an idiot?? Bearing in mind some of those on here would have him back as head coach!!!!

Hull have introduced many local youngsters to the top level of the game in recent years. There is a school of thought that dares to suggest maybe too many at the expense of quality particularly when coupled with poor external recruitment. The plethora of injuries has probably also meant that those young players have had to play too many games, sometimes out of position, to cover. Could it be that this is a major contributor to the club's on-field performance 'nose diving' and not a result of it ?

That said I look around and see the likes of James Graham, Joel Tomkins, Sam Burgess and past greats like Shaun Edwards, Alex Murphy and others. I think if you are really good enough you naturally shine regardless. Cream rises to the top. I have no doubt that good coaching is a contributor but if you're really good then you prove it with performance. Just because you were OK at 16/17 means nothing. There must be 1000s of players across the world who promised at 16 but failed to make the top grade. It's not just about coaching it's about how much raw talent is really there plus the mental strength and single mindedness needed to be a winner. Those things are the responsibility of the individual IMHO.

Tell that to his face if you have the bottle! I bet a lot of people who are dishing out the dirt like this have never played rugby in their lives.

I agree you dont have to have played at a high level to know if someone is a good player or not but he isnt crap !

Whilst I dont agree with Standee regards Tommy Lee he still has the right to his opinion of him as a player. The ability/willingness to say it to his face or otherwise should have nothing to do with it. Easy to say I know but Tommy shouldn't take it personally (and probably doesn't) if someone on a message board thinks he is "crap". Plenty of people think he has something to offer, myself included, and hope that he achieves some success. Thackray moving on may make it easier for him to do that here but if not a move away could be the best thing for him.
