Been to plenty of games, and if players are so bothered about the fans then maybe they should take their fingers out of their and put a shift in?

we are talking about people earning 40K a year and more, poor lambs.

Look at the end of the day we are easily the worst at it.
Most players should n do have tough skins.
Some though as tough a skin as they might have can't help to be bothered.
Crookes was always struggling, before he's even put a shirt on. In many cases it's wives girlfriends kids etc that hear it, they get upset that rubs off. There has been some dire dire players for rovers. I'll talk to my mates about them an they'll say so. Game day, fans back em n never heard of them calling them or booing them.
Been to other grounds as a neutral n seen poor players make errors after been doing it all yr, massive sighs all round, no abuse though.
Were poor, if big portions of 12000breed n exude negativity how does that not make its way into the team/players minds?
You've seen a team lift with mega support(semi, matter of weeks ago for a start) why would you think poor support n negativity doesn't work the same way?

Whether or not it affects players decisions to come to us I don't know, however our fans are terrible. I can't remember the last game I went to where I wasn't embarrassed by something one or more of our fans did. Be it fighting amongst ourselves or just idiots shouting things out.

And you know that how, exactly? Done some proper research into it? A survey maybe?

Or just an opinion plucked out of thin air?


And I've been to grounds as a neutral and otherwise and heard fans of other sides give just as much abuse as ours do.

No from knowing players personally from other teams the league n watching at the least 12 neutral games.
Can you imagine what we'd have done to someone like latus if he'd played that long on our wing.
You ever sat with a young player n have them ask you what what's been said on here as they know I go on here? Then if you ever go on our facebook page at times it's cringeworthy! Everybody on facebooks gonna follow their sons,brothers, husbands team. Of course it bothers people n rubs off.

Honestly - any player who's bothered by what gets posted on the internet, or the level of 'abuse' at games for that matter, probably ought to swap to flower arranging as a career. And their relatives need to grow up. The world is full of numpties and most of them have internet access. Learn to deal with it.

Plus our fans are no better or worse than any other sports fans anywhere. Replicate our performances over the last few seasons at any other club and you'd be seeing the same response. It's what sports fans do.

He looks similar to what he did at Salford but he looked so much different size wise on the pitch. Only time will tell what shape he will be in for the start of the season. He seems to be a player who can fluctuate in size quite quickly.

Someone on twitter said he'd flown right through a pretty rigorous fitness test set by us, it's just a case of him keeping up to standard which should happen with training and playing full time. I'm sure out conditioning and nutrition staff have a plan already set out for him.

Hes lost too much weight for me, he lost weight in his final year at Salford and was no wear near as effective on the field now he's lost even more by the looks of it so how he's going to manage without the weight I don't know?

, he has dropped a shed load of fat and put on muscle mass so he looks a hell of a lot trimmer but as anyone knows muscle is around 50% denser than fat so takes up less space, you end up being almost as heavy yet don't take up the physical proportions that a fat person does.

If he runs in with the same gusto he's known for then if he's 16-5 stone I'll be happy with that as it means we don't have to spell him as often if he was a fat/overweight 19.5 stone as below. It also means he's less likely to get injured carrying that kind of weight for his size.

It depends what you mean by 'weight'. At 25-35% BF (which he used to be) your slower to accelerate and thus despite weighing more your impact is actually less over a short distance than at 15-20% BF with the same muscle mass.

Your also slower, more prone to injuries and get tired faster.

There's a reason you don't see many players in RL with a body like he used to have.

Just read on the saints board that he made the most metres then any other wigan forward seasons 2006-2009. For 4 full seasons that's some going. He will be one of the best signings of the 2014 season.

I'm pretty happy with this signing. He's got a point to prove and I'd hate to stand in the way. We needed a beast. We got one.
