I have mate, the TV in the lounge is fine, but that connects direct to the SKY dish. All the other TV's in the house connect direct to the loft-box which the digital aerial feeds (i think). All the other TV's are picking up all the channels but every 2/3 seconds the screen shakes for a second or two and then corrects itself.

Anyone else spotted the england RL shirts in the latest BMW ad? They're only on for about 0.01s - perhaps someone with Sky+ could check if i'm right.

Was one in the England Union game too, a little lad celebrating a penalty goal in his England RL shirt, camera was on him for a good 4 or 5 seconds too!

I never understand that rule. The way I read it is that you can't post links to videos the uploader hasn't taken themself - e.g. a recording of Super League off the telly, but if it's uploaded by someone owning the copyright then it's ok, e.g. Super League upload highlights of a game.

But on the Sin Bin the other day someone linked camera phone footage of the riots that got removed.

Anyone any ideas?

Normal rule of thumb is if its copyright material. IE SKY games.

IF SKY put the links on Youtube then its fine or say on the SL website, if Joe Bloggs does it aint


Not sure on the Riots one, if its phone footage then it should be OK unless they are worried about content

Although usually when the words YOUTUBE are mentioned, the moderators s start nipping regardlesss

So much so that poster used to refer to it as 'That famous Video upload site' as they were concerned they could not say YOU TUBE without being pulled up on it!!

Hutchie's post more or less covers it. Linking to copyrighted material is illegal unless you have the permission of the copyright owner. Plenty of stuff on YouTube is posted there without that permission, and linking to it is breaking the law. If the clip owner posts it the the permission is assumed as it's a public site.

Clips posted on company websites (like SKY or the SL) are a grey area as some companies object to linking due to bandwidth issues and/or the fact that it takes traffic away from their site.

This isn't theoretical stuff BTW - the site has had letters from lawyers in the past and simply can't afford legal action against it.

The Sin Bin is a special case - so many dodgy links were being posted that a blanket ban on YT links was introduced as it just wasn't possible to check each one. On here the Mods tend to check the clip first and act accordingly.

I appreciate this will be of limited interst but there's everychance that Alaister Cook could go 300 against India in the next 20 minutes or so. I know the Indian bowling attack is missing a couple, but this is a superb effort from Cook.
