| Quote ="Keiththered"In my opinion the main problem with your squad is a lack of mental toughness. You have lots of skilful players but last night after the head patting incident your team just fell apart. Connor, Sneyd, Houghton the spine of the team just disappeard and made basic errors. Knock-ons, poor kicking, passes going to ground. Just when you wanted them to stand up and be counted they failed you miserably. Top players perform when the situation is difficult just as the Wigan players did at the start of the first half.
Your main need is a coach that can instil that mental discipline.'"
You know your stuff Keith. Top forensic analysis as always.
Could you do another one on this game? you appear to have overlooked it for some reason.

I thought it would be obvious. Wire didn’t put you under the pressure that Pies did. Under intense pressure FC crumbled. Your star players were unable to respond. That comes down to the mentality of the players when skilful individuals can not respond in adversity.
You never want to join the debate only try to score cheap points.

I agree
We have to give Swift a chance as he is a decent wing and has pace
Fonua has been a liability this season.Ratu taken a lot of criticism having to defend also for Fonua.
Never a speedster but seems to have lost the pace and power he had

| From the outside looking in i think Connor must stay at 1. I would say a ball playing half is a must to compliment Sneyd's kicking game, a centre and 2 speedy wingers. I think you look good in the forwards, the emergence of Cator has been impressive. The lad is going to be a hell of a player. 2 wingers i hear you say? I don't think Faraimo is effective as a wingman, This might sound really silly but do you think he could be converted into a second rower? He has the power, size and speed.

Think he lacks the size. stamina to play in the pack. I like him as a winger - his ball return is fantastic. We can overcome his lack of speed, if we have raw speed on the other side - which we did with Ratu. With him leaving, we need to replace that.
I like Connor at 1 too - but we don't need a ball player at 6. We need speed, agility and a runner.

The game is all about pace now and we have to address that starting with a fast running half back
Wigan are showing the way signing Field who is exceptionally fast. They no doubt have the fastest backs in S/L next season

| I think for 2021 we certainly need to add some genuine pace with the loss of Ratu & Kelly and Shaul being out for what maybe most of the season.
I think a replacement for Kelly is also going to be a must with unless we sign a FB and put Connor back at 6.
In the forwards I think the improvement in Satae and Sao have made to our go forward with Taylor, Bowden, Fash & Brown we are better than we were but still could do to add another that can make yards. As much as I’ve wanted to see Masi succeed I just don’t see the aggression in him to take his hand further.
As for the second row it depends if Jones stays or goes really. If he stays then no additions needed but if he goes we definitely need to find a replacement.
Guess it’s all down to whoever the new coach is and what they see is needed for how they want us to play moving forward.

Pretty much on the money there Chris, there is another avenue we could pursue, if Jones is going, move Griff into the second row, and rather than look for another second row, a centre with pace, Wardle maybe, as we will need more speed in the backs. A six as well as another prop if possible would put us in a good position.
Before ccs cancels his Christmas turkey, knowing the financial restraints on most clubs, we will be very fortunate to achieve this.

I said the same when Catalans signed him but I’ll be honest, I couldn’t care less about his views & opinions all I care about is what he can do on the pitch.

Think he will return to the NRL for the.2022 season. Our current Prime Minister is a Cronulla fan, a staunch Christian, neutral to Folau's beliefs and has the ear of the NRL boss. I believe Folau is really missing being part of the congregation at his church in Sydney where his dad is Pastor.
Rumoured that at least a couple of Sydney clubs would be interested in signing him if he is cleared for registration.

| Honestly don't get all this Connor at full back nonsense
He was dreadful the other night were so much slower at bringing the ball back when he's at full back and he proved its hard to do these wonder passes when your closed down straight away.
Atleast shauls a threat in open space, Connor isn't a threat at all hence why he passes it straight away from a kick

Dreadful? He went up and collected everything.
Shaul has pace yes, but plays hop skip and jumps before he runs. By that time defence is up.at him.
Coote always passes the ball on when he collects kicks, is he dreadful, is he no threat?
Any playmaker when, when shut down and has no time look average at best.
The only thing that shaul does better at fb then conner is his support play.
But to say he was dreadful, imo is way off the mark.

Listening to McNamara last night, he touched on the financial pressures on Bernard Guash funding the complete organisation, flights, covid, etc.
Macca stated they are not a rich club, and I wondered if the Catalans time of being able to sign a lot of high profile players is over, perhaps the sale of Israel back to the NRL is inevitable.
There are stories of the NRL showing interest in rescuing our flagging model over here, the NRL are already cherry picking our finest, perhaps this could be the way forward for the Super League.
A bit naive on my thinking perhaps, but the NRL with all its riches and obvious associations with the sport, and affinity with countries, seem happy to watch the English game go to the wall.
What’s your opinion on this, understandably we are divided by thousands of miles, but is there no concern or worries for our games demise here.
