Wont be far off but i bet everyone who posts their team for Salford will be different in one or two positions
I think Satae is better off the bench and one or two big names in the backs will miss out
Irrespective of leaving Ratu and Kelly need to start.
Whatever happens there will in any case be wholesale changes for the next game

I think whatever team last starts with, is “on paper” a very good 17! Really expecting us to come back with a bang and be challenging that top four. Houghton for man of steel

I kind of agree, was the only position I had trouble with, choosing between the 2, ended up going with Connor, purely because he can create something from nothing, for himself or his winger, BUT also could quite easily go with Carlos,

True, I'm a huge Carlos fan. In lockdown I've been watching back some of the CC games and I think his contributions have been underplayed. I really hope he stays.

| Itl be very interesting to see what Last does.
Just before Connor got injured against Catalans he out Fonua away twice after moving to centre from halfback, personally I think that partnership will be explosive.
The waters are muddies by Carlos who is very underrated and posts brilliant stats, likewise for Griffin. I'm wondering do we play Griffin starting at second row or coming off the bench. Or do we drop one of Connor or Carlos and keep Griffin at centre?
Big conundrum
With Last touching on creativity, I think he l find a place for Connor at centre alongside Fonua.

I think with the high number of games in a short time period we'll probably see plenty of combinations and horses for courses depending on the opposition. Defending v Hurrell as an example.

| I agree Mrs Barista
Expect a lot of squad rotation, Taylor touched on it too.
Hopefully luck with injurys and our strength in depth will see us rise.
I'm hoping players like Houghton and Shaul are spelled too, itl be a shame if some are percieved as must play regardless of form when we have good youngsters particularly in Johnstone and Wynee to keep them fresh

| Keeping the players fit and fresh is going to be vital if we are hoping for any success this season.
Rotation and interchange is going to have to be spot on.
I know this is true every season, but even more so this year.

| Back injury....
Quote “Scott could have played on for a few weeks, but he’s not 100% so there is no point in making his injury worse and then loose him for the full year. We’ve taken the decision to get him treated now and back to full fitness as soon as possible for the remainder of the season.
“Masi’s had a knock on his shoulder in a tackle which did a bit of damage and playing him is not worth the risk. He’s in rehab and should be available later this month".'"

| Frustrating to restart without Taylor but I suspect all teams will pick up injuries in the first few rounds.
Hopefully Bienek and Brown will get a chance.

Played 46 games or so games in 2018/19, so doing think injuries are a big problem.
Agreed with you and other posters that Brown should be above him and Fash, these two wont be everything more than steady SL props (You do need these type of players to balance the cap) but Brown could be a superstar, I'll be disappointed if he doesn't at least play half the games this season, given the chance I think he will stand out and be a horse choice prop next season.

Brown definitely in Last's thinking. Not sure where we stand contract wise with Leigh on Bienek and Cameron Scott in terms of loan doesn't sound straightforward. Scott will be down the pecking order for now but I do think he has a lot of potential.

I'd say that's about right for a player of his standard, and age you cant have a team of superstars and he is a decent squad player, remember he started playing RL a lot later than most players his age.
No other players will be released, particularly those in contract, who do you replace them with, market will be terrible for next year.

| I'd replace him with someone like Brown who will be available more, more likely to challenge for a starting spot thus creating competition and who has a lot more assertiveness than Matongo, who lets not kid ourselfs doesn't go looking for work when he does play.
It's the settling for average that makes us inconsistent
We need an ever evolving squad improvement mentality.

What do you mean replace him with someone like Brown, if you mean Beiwn, how can he replace him when they are both in the squad together.
I've already highlighted than Masi has a pretty good injury record, certainly better than Savelio, shall we release him aswell.
So who replaces Masi next season, do we have another young prop ready? We are already losing Ratu, Kelly and probably Jones, I'm not sure we can afford to just release a contracted (cheap) player without a replacement.
Brown would be ahead Masi and Fash for certain though.
I also think the likes of Masi and Fash who have shown potential deserve a chance under the new coaching team.
