| Far from perfect with some tries bombed but a comfortable win in the end.
Carlos was excellent tonight, some great centre play and good to see Kelly back and looking good.

| Solid performance against a poor side, we broke the line numerous times and once we calmed down and stopped trying to score every play we scored some goo try's.
I thought Taylor and Mini led from the front, some real class from Kelly and Carlos. Something to build on.

Good summary. Taylor’s been excellent since returning from his operation IMO, great to have Kelly back and silky from Carlos for Talanoa’s try. Radford sounds confident of Houghton and Paea being back for the derby

| Some good bits, some not so good. We made them look much better than they are at times and we scored some soft tries but also some well worked ones. We're too soft defensively IMO and without watts we're a big forward down. Still a long way from a top 4 side IMO

| solid win, 2 points in the bag, having Houghton and paea back will give us a big lift, in taylor Bowden green masi and paea where not short of size, but sometimes green and Bowden have a good game then 2 or 3 average games, take into account in bureta binman and griffin we have some big units in the backs, hopefully we can kick on and start to get a few wins under our belt

| Could have been in trouble against a better side, but it's a building block and a much needed win (bit like when we beat Wakey a couple of years ago).
Kelly will get better with game time (he seemed to appreciate the songs), and Houghton will improve our tempo which has looked sluggish. Definitely think we need proper cover for hooker now. Houghton cant play 80mins in every game without getting injured sometimes.
Do agree that we're a big forward down with Watts not there, especially when our go forward has been a key part of our game.
Still seem to have a number of players not firing on all cylinders.
Carlos was class though and Griffin is better used in the second row than centre.

Quarters were awesome tonight. Especially Griffin and Tui. But it probably doesn't fit with your agenda.

Griffin Awesome? what game were you watching.Yes he scored two simple tries but made two handling errors. Bombed a try when he dropped the ball.
Keep saying he is not a good centre but given his size and whilst we are short of numbers he can do a job coming off the bench like he did tonight in the second row.
Its not just my agenda, there are now several more on this forum who are of the same opinion.
Poor signing. Its a pity he is on a three year deal as we could have got rid at the end of the season.

9 tackle busts
4 clean breaks

11.75m average gain
22 tackles
2 tries
He did make a couple of errors as you say but Griffin certainly brought something to the table last night.

You have had in for Griffin from the start, a bit like Yeaman you won't change your mind no matter how well he plays, he certainly isn't a poor signing, I think he is a good squad player, personally I would have him in the strongest 17, but very good player to fill in. You need to watch the try's again, he run a great line for his second try.
Last night he had a funny game, scored two try's, made a number of breaks, but bombed 2/3 try's, a real rocks and diamonds performance

| It was a bit like the hudds game where we won at a canter against a poor team by only really playing well for 20 minutes or so. Not good enough against the better teams as we've seen. We desperately need houghton, manu and paea back and I hope hadley isn't too badly injured. I'm hoping the fact he walked off means they weren't too worried

| Griffin had a real mixed night as others have said. His kick that went dead summed his night up perfectly. Great work to make the break out of nothing, then almost put it in row z. Don't blame him for trying the kick. We want to see exciting rugby with players backing themselves and it was a try if the kick was good.
It was an odd game. We did alot wrong and yet scored 7 tries, which probably says more about Catalans than us. Some really good individual performances but still looking a little directionless at times. Hopefully Houghton coming back will put that right.

are you saying you would have him in your strongest 17?
I think you meant to say he is a good squad player but i wouldnt have him in the strongest 17 but a very good player to fill in.
Thats why he has been a poor signing. He was signed on a 3 year deal as a starting centre and not a fill in and has had enough time to settle into the club yet even you who says he is not a poor signing would not have him in our best starting 17.
I agree it didnt take me long to form a negative opinion of Griffin and he didnt help himself with some lazy displays coupled with poor defence and ball handling but as i have said i can still see a place on the bench for Griffin using his size coming on as an impact second row.
Losing Watts has left a massive hole to fill and we currently have no impact from the bench and this is where i see Griffin making a difference.

Thought Griffin had a good game to be fair to him even taking into the errors. Think the kick he put in was just poor execution it a nice idea and had it come off would have bee a great piece of play from him making the break etc. Think as was reported before the game Radford and given them instruction to be more adventurous and think some of those errors were due to trying to push it on just about every play at one point. Once Griffin gets early ball in space and he really can make yards and is a real threat. We either need to use this part of his skill set or fibd a way to use him more effectively such running the lines like Yeaman did with great affect.
Thought Griffin, Mini, Taylor & Carlos were especially difficult to handle.
That said still huge room for improvement but very reminiscent of the game against Wakey when under the same kind of pressure for a result

| There are extended highlights on the Catalans youtube page for those that want to see a bit more than just the tries.
We certainly bombed a few tries and Griffin did better but as others pointed out, Catalans look like the whipping boy rabble this season.
ATEOTD a win is a win, hopefully we go forward and improve/cut out basic errors/cheap penalties and rack some more wins, at the moment ugly wins will do.
