| I don't see us getting our average up much more in the near future, I suppose the only chance is to push 10k pass holders, we have 8000 this year so are just getting 2/3000 match day tickets.
Not sure what else the club can do to get people through the door, for the entertainment you get, it's great value, particularly kids passes etc.

How much marketing do the club do outside of Hull? There's loads of towns in the East Riding without a pro sports team. Goole, Howden, Market Weighton, Driffield, Beverley. I know we don't have unlimited funds but widening our marketing net could be worth a shot.
There does seem to be more kids in the stand again though, which is always a good sign for future growth

| I think AP said that we need another good year to convince the lapsed supporters.
Think it will come, it will just take time to convince the floating supporters.
There does seem a good vibe around the KC on match days now though. Apart from the bloke behind me who never stops moaning about our kick offs always being the same!

| Quote ="Mild mannered Janitor"We have 14 home games guaranteed. Is it too much to expect to bugdet for it? We know the fixtures in November.
Given that rationale, should we expect a really big gate for the Salford game? The dymanics of the City's employment are not that different to what they were in 2010, yet we got many 13K+ gates at a time our team was much less exciting to watch and results generally went against us
Also, I am not sure why some are factoring that Widnes are not an attraction. How about thinking HULL FC are what you go to watch?
I appreciate that the members on this forum are fan who either attend or would if they could (I am aware many on here don't live locally), but I am not really sure what the club can do more of to get bums on seats. Success? expensive, try scoring rugby? We have it. Its time the many who like to wear the shirt but watch our home games on TV in the pub stood up and were counted at the ground.'"
You weren't saying all of that when you missed hundreds of games while you were working overseas
Anyway, from being utter cack for years, if we could regularly drag 11k home fans in this season I think it would represent good progress

Admittedly, the 12000 mile round trip proved a bit of an issue....Those were the days pre internet commentary, I used to phone in to Humberside to listen to the game....

I was back in the UK at that point. Was overseas 2001-2003.
Then spent 2 years in Berkshire. That was a much more doable 470 mile round trip

| The club could change to a Sunday kick off then I could attend again lol. Some people may be thinking we have seen this before,a cup win, then another good season after cup win then the team was dismantled. This wont happen under this regime but u can understand it and fans may have got used to not going and having a better social/home life and watch it on tv.Like I have Sai I cant attend now due to work on a Friday and having set hols (caravan industry. Also marketing can be better...i had to drive to Wigan for a family funeral the other Thursday and all down te east lancs road A580,there was banners on the lampposts marketing the Wigan v Leigh game on the Friday.Have also seen this in the town centre for other matches,we could learn from this.

The 8000 includes general memberships but as the club won't specify the split it's hard to find out what the rough casual attendees are.
The monthly DD option would have made a full membership appealing to those that simply can't stump up the money up front.
on a slight side note it would be interesting to figure out how much money has gone to the SMC as a direct result of Hull FC being one of the tenants

From the diary
"The last time we heard from the Club on the subject we had sold over 8000 season tickets which I believe is over 1600 up on last year. The good thing is that doesn’t include general members who haven’t paid to get admitted to games or buy one get one free tickets issued through the family ticket scheme. Take up of the latter is in fact very low indeed and only around 150 in total"

Okay, the last I'd read from the club before the season started was that the figures used leading up to deadline were not specifying what membership type hence the thinking the figures covered both. thank you for clarifying/pointing that out.

Sounds like Hull are going for a big attendance against Leeds on Good Friday. Pearson has said the club is working with Leeds and the RFL to ensure the game is "befitting of the showpiece Easter schedule". It's not on Sky and if we have an evening kick off then there's no TV game to clash with.'"
It's been confirmed as a 15:00 kick off.

I bought mine through the yearly DD scheme which starts around April. Of course that requires you to commit to the following season regardless of the outcome. With 20 minutes to go last Good Friday I have to say I was seriously questioning my sanity lol

| That last 20 minutes i honestly beleive was the pivotal point for the whole season. Going in to the Warrington home game on the back of that defeat, Radford under more pressure to play senior 1st choice XVII players that weren't 100% instead of putting in fresh legs/junior squad players as a 'free hit' type game (which worked as it should). two losses over that Easter would have left everyone feeling very despondant including the knock to players and coaches confidence.
As it was somehow the dobbins caved in and we turned it around, thank god!

| People say the loss at Widnes was the start of our season but I'm with you, that final 20 minutes saw something click. There are many theories on why we suddenly realised we were capable of actually playing attacking rugby, and I doubt anyone of us will ever know what happened that afternoon. One thing though, it was one of the best atmospheres I've even been a part of and the memories of what we went on to achieve last season will ensure that I die a happy woman...just not yet I hope!

| Leeds putting on free coaches for good Friday, should bring over a good following.
I hope we put on an offer and really market this game and try and get 15k plus for this game.

The team still carry that "last 20 minutes" mentality. Of the three close games this season, we've won two (Saints & Wakey) in the last quarter, and could've beat Catalans too.
In the not too distant past we've seen Hull sides roll over and get their bellies tickled, with players seemingly not that bothered, but this current lot never know when they're beaten, they graft to the end and have pride in the shirt.

Oh, and it really isn't that expensive (ticket for the game) as some would like to make out. This is top level sport. If you think its too expensive, check out tickets to top level football, concerts or theatre.'"
400 Saints fans attended the Hull match.

I think we were (and proved more so later on) very fragile mentally at the end of games and lacked any form of leadership. I personally thought Hull just thought the game was lost so sod it and threw it around, a couple of lucky bounces and stupid plays from us and we froze.
I agree it was pivotal as to that point in the game we were cruising and under no threat whatsoever. had we won that I believe we would have made the 8, as it was it set the scene for the end of the season

I often say that. In years gone by, we'd have lost a lot of the games that we win in those final 20 minutes.
