Stop being pedantic, you know exactly what I mean. We are known for Black & White irregular hoops , and every year when the kit comes out people moan when it's not irregular hoops. So I'd be amazed if the club didn't do it next year

You're right, I'm sure they'll cop out and use the irregular hoops but we will have at least 3 shirts so plenty of opportunity for something from our earlier years

They could bring out the first ever shirt for a special one off like Magic weekend

I am hoping they do a commemerative white star shirt

Manchester United sell approximately 1.4m shirts globally per year so they can afford to do that, we can't.

On the topic of the 150th anniversary, I hope we have a proper black and white hooped shirt like the JW pic for home AND away (changing shorts colour to avoid any clash), plus a real retro shirt for one game (with 1-17 sanctioned by the RFL) and no sponsorship, then maybe a further one for Magic Weekend (plus new shirts for CC final and GF

Wasn't the very original kit all black? i'm sure I read somewhere we actually had the nickname 'the All Blacks', think it was when we actually played in East Hull before move to Boulevard.

I suggested that but some felt the need to get their kegs in a knot

Hull FC's first shirt was scarlet and white stripes with the three crowns on a black badge. Hull White Star started with a blue and white shirt before switching to a black shirt with a white star.

When the two clubs merged the original shirt was black with a blue and gold badge. There was a temporary move to cherry and white stripes but this was ditched as the colours ran when the shirts were washed. We were known as the "All Blacks" around the late 1880s (around the same time as the original New Zealand team were first called that). The black shirts remained until around 1908 when the irregular hoops were first introduced.

We should play in our traditional red and white in 2015 then

Interesting stuff. I have a photo of Hull FC form their first season in the Northern Union in 1895 when they moved to Boulevard and they had black shirts, white shorts.

Just updated the list on page 1 with the new Cas kit, sported by Mr Andy Lynch. Quite smart in my opinion.
