I believe we were talking to Feka long before we pulled out of the Walker deal. Two very different types of prop. I think we intended to sign both of them, especially having decided to let Lynch leave.

But when we signed Ellis we didn't know Manu & Briscoe would be leaving. IIRC we were still waiting for an answer from Tickle so we wouldn't have been able to backload Gareths contract.

If it's true that we're near the full cap with what we have now then I feel we are seriously overpaying a lot of the squad. The clubs not been getting value for money out of a lot of those contracts.

Yeaman has been stealing a living for long enough but the club keep on giving him contracts. Tickle would have also had yet another lucrative contract had he not done us a MASSIVE favour and gone to Widnes.

Our recruitment is poor but our retention has been just as bad for long enough.

Quotes coming out of the club suggest that our squad for 2014 is nearly complete, maybe a couple more including Biggs the RU winger.

If you listen to the interview again you will here AP say that Motu Tony is here to make sure we dont over pay and has already pointed out that, as if we are overpaying already.

AP also said we are keeping cap back until after the world cup as someone might be available.(not in the interview but before)

One thing I do know for certain is that bomber was happy to splash the cash in negotiations. With Lineham he went straight in at £70,000 a year, no loading for performances, games played, milestones etc, just straight in at that .

First person Lineham spoke to about the offer was Radders.. He asked him if he should take the deal, Radders asked him if he was daft and told him to get back in the office pronto and sign as quick as he could.

Bearing in mind this was before Lineham really impressed this season.

Bomber also managed to give over the odds on a few other deals.

He maybe had the contacts but negotiation was certainly not his strong point.

Hopefully the fact that Tony has studied business and has already acknowledged we're overpaying players will see better and more considered contracts been offered.
