at the end of the if hes injured most fc fans get what they want! someone to pass to briscoe and give us a bigger threat in attack if he isn't injured then i hope he gets better this season or gets dropped! and as for me hoping he is injured i didn't mean it like i posted it i wouldn't wish it on any player i was basically saying if hes injured its a good thing IMO for the team because i don't think gentle has the balls to drop yeamo but i can see we would be much better with a ball playing centre to play alongside briscoe and i think he would agree!! yeamo is in the team on past reputation and we aren't going to win things with players who would not for me get into another super league side barring the wooden spoon contenders but some people wont say it because there up his arris because he has his testimonial and hes from hull

Technically even if yeamo out injured. I don't think whiting would move there. It would be Briscoe + Crooks and Arundel an Lineham.

Crooks i agree is a better ball handler but weaker in defense. Forgetting hudds for now. Against dobbins i'd want yeaman playing. IMO

IMO he is still our best option at centre. Arundle after being destroyed by most on here 3 weeks ago, is now a better option than Yeamon.........

Yeamon, yes, not the greatest centre and below average for ball handling and probably "rugby league brain". Above average defense. World class commitment, effort and professionalism.

I would have him in every week, maybe time to swap him over with crooks? Might mix it up a bit.

Yeaman hasn't been in good form this year, but as usual there are some who go OTT or become revisionists claiming he's never been good (in much the same way as with Horne in the past few years). He's clearly a very good player and one of SLs best centres, just because he has a flaw in his game does not change that. Too many seem to see rating players as a 3 option multiple choice rather than the sliding scale it is, there's more than just world class, average, and crap.

As for not getting into other top sides, I personally think that when in his more typical level of form he'd probably get a regular game at every SL team barring Leeds and probably Warrington.

On form he'd get in Leeds and Warrington's team too.

I don't see it myself. He's not particularly quick, has no step to speak of and has never been any good at putting his winger away. He's quite strong, and fairly difficult to stop close to the line, and his defence is quite good too (though he does still make a few poor decisions in that respect). I think Crooks is going to be miles better in a couple of years.

I dont see how people can accuse him of being a poor centre for not getting briscoe away. Briscoe has been in open field a few times this season and looked average/uninterested at best. Not having a dig a tb but defending yeamo with this point. Like Ben Galea said, the ball isnt getting to the left edge and proven against Cas on Fri.

Yes. Stronger than some players, but not as strong as others.



I've not accused him of being a poor centre. However, the ability to get your winger away is one of the primary facets of centre play, and one he's never been much good at (not just this season).



It beside the point how many times he's been in space - how many times did Yeaman put him into that space?

Getting the winger away is only one facet agreed, but the rest of his game earned him international honours.
Would you be criticising tb if yeamo put him away and didnt score?
Form is temporary, class is permanant.

Richard Horne was once an international winger, so selection for England/GB is not necessarily any indicator of quality.

and saw nothing of the ball from his centre keith senior. can flip your quote over and say richard horne at that time was too good to leave out the team so made him a winger at the expense of a genuine winger. Playing for your country is an indicator of quality.

Some of this thread is absolute cack.
Yeaman has a try return of 1every other game over a ten yr period.
Constantly leaves attackers crumpled on the ground, often winning us the ball back.
Runs the best lines of any centre playing when on form n team clicking.
Biggest weakness is getting his wing away, and that's been blown out of all proportion, Briscoe n Raynor have hell of a lot of tries from playing outside him.
Certainly on his day on of the better centres, and an asset due to his attitude.
Like has been said people hoping injury is true is ridiculous. Especially coming into Easter. Thought crooks got well looked after against Warrington. He come across ok on telly but there I noticed how much he was looked after by westy whiting n later Galea. We can't invest that much effort into one player constantly, probably the reason he isn't a straight starting choice. So we'll have to hope he comes good in yeamans absence starting against a huge powerfull hudd team!

Easily the best centre at our club and by some distance,Crooks has the potentail to be a very good centre,but has long way to go,Arundal needs to be able to tackle,before I even start calling him a centre.

The joker who said Gentle would drop Yeaman for Crooks and Arundal needs to take up a new hobby because he knows nothing about rugby.

P.S.Yeaman strike rate is fantastic and consider that a lot of the years, we had one of, if not the worst, attacks in the league.

But an attack that only went to his side of the field nonetheless.
