| Feel sorry for horne that he's had 5 years where he's been expected to be our organiser and it isn't him. He is more of a runner with a good short kicking game and if we'd had a decent SH alongside him since cooke left then I doubt we'd have seen countless threads slagging him off since 2007.
Good game today and he's always been our best support player

| Best player on the field today. Had to smile really. Well done DJ as well for assuredly taking the team around the park and kicking well.

Said for ages that he's been asked to do things which is just not in his game. Never been a long kicker, yet moaned at when he doesn't do a good job at it. Short kicks, running and supporting have always been his game. Lets hope he can keep it up.

Bang on,he's an effective runner ,certainly played some of his best rugby in this role in 2006

wouldn't say hopeless, he put some hard work in today, but an in form Tickle will probably replace him (judging on what we've seen of him so far).

Different positions, don't see what Green has to do with Tickle's return. Galea should be the one who is worried.

| Horne was excellent today, and it boils down to the simple fact that the job he was given was one he is good at; run with the ball. Keep up performances like today (with a bit of improvement too, he did still make a few errors IMO), and he could be a good foil for Holdsworth. After all, he probably is the only halfback we've got who can run with the ball well.
Whilst I am one of those who thinks Seymour has been harshly done by by fans and think he can perhaps consider himself unfortunate for being dropped after 1 game, I have less issue with it with him being replaced by another halfback. My big concern was that he would be replaced by Heremaia.

| Horne was outstanding, constantly broke the line and posed a real threat with the ball in hand. His best run came from a peach of a ball from Westerman.
I think it came about due to Holdsworth being allowed to make all the play and Horne was given the role of running the ball and using his short kicking game.
Don't think it's the end for Seymour though, form and injuries will dictate that. Heremaia showed today he is a much better hooker than SH, his skills are superb at 9.

Gentle said on the radio afterwards it was just to give him a rest as we've got a short turnaround for Saints.

| Just resting them for friday with a short turnaround Gentle said on Radio. Horney was outstanding best games he has had for years, with the shackles been taken of him and Holdsworth doing the organising and kicking he could play his own game.

| Thought RH cemented a starting slot for saints on that performance, for the first time is a long time he had no pressure, nothing expected of him and he looked so laid back, and the thing that stood out was how much time he made for himself just like the old days, he frightened bradford to death everytime he got the ball...
well done RH you look a class act alongside holdsworth ...

| What was really pleasing for me was the way the full team ran over to Horney when he put Pitts over. seems like a really good team spirit.

Is it?
He 's been here 1 year, and had quite a few good games early last year. In the Leeds game in particular he absolutely bossed the game against a top side and gave what IMO was the best performance from a Hull halfback in the last 3/4 years.

I,m not denying he's had the odd good game but thats as good as its got with him, even at 34 Sean Long showed in patches far more spark, flair and creativity than he has.IMO.
For the 1 good game against Leeds you mention i think the majority of Hull fans could give you 10 stinkers, and fortunately for the club the coach recognises this(and AP).

| Regardless of what PG said post-match I think Seymour is about finished now.
If he wasn't prepared to give Brett a chance, against, let's face it, a pretty shoite Bradford side to get his confidence up with ball in hand then I doubt he's gonna make much of a mark with us.
Was more than happy to see Rich step up to the plate but we've been here before, haven't we?
Two or three games down the line and results have gone against us we'll hear the clamour for a change again.
Hope not, but it wouldn't surprise me to seeing the season unfold a bit like last year with Horne, Seymour and Azza rotating in the role.
Just what we don't need.

I just personally think there's a lot of revisionism/selective opinion amongst many Hull fans once their minds have been made up about a player, and Seymour is simply amongst the latest batch. Yes, at times he's been disappointing (probably even overall), but he has by no means been as awful and as often as is commonly made out, nor has it been entirely his own fault.

Correctomundo.
And if Seymour thought, 'fook it now, I'll sit in the West and take my wages' you could hardly blame him to be honest.

I can't disagree. Some players simply will not now win over the fans unless they put in pretty much perfect performances every week for a couple of years, and that's simply not going to happen. Conversely, there are some who get very little criticism even when it would be justified. Sometimes judgement seems to be made remarkably quickly, too.

| Let's hope Seymour does - he's utter gash. One ot two decent games a season is way off what this club should be striving for. Can't believe that some are still trying to promote this guy. The bile spewed about R.Horne has been ridiculous by some on here and plenty of humble pie should have been consumed come Sunday evening.
R.Horne has been crying out to play alongisde an organising general since Cooke left. He's been asked by succesive coaches to provide something he can't. Now with Holdsworth he can just go out there and play a natural game.

| Like many I was convinced that Horne would just be used as a squad player / injury cover this season, but he had a wow of a game. Maybe has a point to prove, maybe it's playing alongside Holdsworth, but a shoe in against Saints on Friday. I know it's only one game but I hope he can keep it going and stay injury free, just maybe we can get through this season before the search for a 7 starts again
