Yes we will, and I'm sure we will get very honest, upfront answers from him too as always.

I guess if you buy stuff from the concourse you are lining the pockets of the SMC and not your respective club. But that is also a private management company and not the owner, so once again the stadium itself is not directly benefitting.

A someone who rightly pointed out to me, they are an East Riding resident, with a KC phone number, it was built using KC Shares which they are part of but because they do live in the East Riding they wouldn't have a say on what would happen to the stadium that they use and put money into.

Exactly. If there is a referendum I expect a say.

| Allam's business model (if even has one) absolutely baffles me!
Last time City were promoted they spent loads of cash, despite this they narrowly avoided relegation in the first year before going down in the 2nd. This time round he intends to spend loads of cash building a new ground and on a load of new players, while at the same time continuing to pay rent at the KC (a new ground would surely take 2 years to develop and build) It sounds like financial madness to me.
I'm also not sure that City need anything bigger than a 25K ground in these economic times, for every big game against the likes of Man U, there is a mid-week fixture against Wigan. City have had arguably their best form in living memory so far this season (their 2007-08 promotion year didn't really get going until after Xmas) yet they are only averaging 15K or so, below the gates they were getting in the Football Leagues back in the better economic times.

| I hear what you're saying and your votes would be useful because if it goes to a referendum we're sunk.
However, the KC was a Hull City Council owned company, not a Hull and East Riding one, regardless if you rented a KC line in East Yorkshire, this does not make you entitled to the profit from the shares. Would you expect a say in the decisions of the owners of BT if you had a BT line?
Unless, of course, we should look at realigning the boundaries! [size=50(Runs for cover.)[/size

I think you will find that thousands of residents in the East Riding were entitled to buy the shares and did take up the offer. I for one made a very nice profit when I sold mine so please get your facts straight before giving us your little whistle.

Thankyou.
I live 25 miles away but put good money into rovers. I have plenty of friends who live nearby who support fc. If they canvas a half mile radius around the ground they may find nobody gives a flying one.
If everybody lived in the ward you would have no use of carparks.

So you don't want to live in Hull, then?
Not quite sure to which incorrect facts of mine you are referring? KC customers were entitled to buy shares, but the owner of the company was Hull City Council. Not Hull City council and the East Riding of Yorkshire councils. When you bought your shares the proceeds went to the seller, Hull City Council - representatives of the people of Kingston Upon Hull. East Riding residents never owned the original company, despite being customers.
Edit. Just re-read what I'd put. Meant ER customers wouldn't benefit from the profit from the share sale, not from the shares themselves. You meant that incorrect fact, then . My apologies.

You're welcome.
Errm, I'm at a loss here. Are you saying that as a Rovers fan you have some sort of vote when it comes to owners' decisions? Hudge'll be happy.
I visited Beverley at the weekend. I often do. I like the place a lot. I spent a lot of money in Nellies as usual and I even got married there. I'll be well peed off if Samuel Smiths sell it on and don't consult me.

| Brilliant for the city this. 10th anniversary of the Hull's greatest sporting gift and some loon hijacks it for his own publicity bitching about not being given a £40m asset for nowt with the annual threats to withdraw his team in protest. Well done. Quite why the council won't do business with such a measured and reasonable negotiator who clearly has the best interests of both tenants so sincerely at heart is beyond me.

| Staggers me the stupidity.
I am firmly FC but do occasionally support the footie and WAS a good time fan in the premiership as a season pass holder. Last time I checked entertainment was optional.
Think many of us sports fans are diehards in one camp but occasionals in the other, suggest he starts to understand that ??
Him attacking OUR club just reduces the likelihood of us supporting HIS team.
Sad all round, as others have said - toys out of the pram, again.............

| Presumably Hull City like FC as tenants have obligations under the terms of the lease just as they have rights. There may be break points where a tenant could walk away without penalty but I'd be surprised if they could just leave , well not without continuing to pay rent etc. Did the Council not build any long term protection into the agreement to ensure that the two tenants had to play at the KC as long as they were financially sound etc? I'd have thought there must be something in the agreement along those lines , presumably for the full term , otherwise if both clubs simply set up elsewhere unlikely though that would be they'd have one big white elephant to deal with.

You'd hope so, wouldn't you?
However, one of Lord Faulkner's first priorities after buying Hull was to try to renegotiate with Allam and the SMC board for improved terms to our agreement. Didn't get far, as we know. I'd imagine Allam would be far more accommodating with City's agreement as owner of both businesses - as far as he can be...
Perhaps the SMC controls the finer nuances of both contracts, subject to operation within a set of criteria agreed with the Council at the birth of the stadium, eg, minimum length of tenancy as you describe.
Possibly this is why the Council feel confident of continuing to call his bluff. Damn, does that mean he's going nowhere?

Its been some time since I read the contract (its a public record held at Hull Central library), but I seem to recall the contract has two 'protection' clauses; 'period of notice' and a sort of 'buy-out' clause. Both professional clubs are not compelled to see out the lengths of their contracts.
It wouldn't surprise me if the Allam's carried out their threat to leave the KC. Gates of 25,000 in the premiership is hardly the basis for sustainability, and when you consider demand for wanting to watch Premiership football, City would command 35,000 gates (even more against the top tier teams).
And as the Allam's say, they aren't going to fund any extension to the KC if they do not own the freehold.
