He was excellent and certainly showed what he is capable of on his day. We never saw even half of that level of ability this season. Is it as simple as his face didnt fit and he wanted to leave therefore we were never going to get the best out of him? Or should Sandercock have recognised his potential and made more of an effort with him rather than just getting rid?

Lynch has a massive part to play in the development of Watts too. In facts they are quite similar in that both have great hands for props.

i agree, also i think Gentle was quoted the other week that Gareth Ellis is looking forward to taking Watts under his wings next season, with Lynchy and Ellis helping him, if he has the right attitude he is a future international in the making.

We could have scored a lot more points if our support play was a little bit better.
On 3 or 4 occasions Watts broke the line with his arms free (one time very close to the try line) but there just wasn't anybody there ready for the offload.
If we can improve on our support play I can see Watts being the creator of a lot of breaks for us.

Since he has signed for us, I think Watts has been very good. He has got better game on game, and his performance on Monday night was that of a pack leader for me. I only wish someone played off his shoulder. The amount of times we could have made clean breaks with a bit of support to him was astounding.

I would hope PG has a real look at this. As you say a support runner would have had a ball with all the offloads from Watts.

I know a lot a people ain't to fond of myler, but this is why I think he'd be a great addition if he is on pg radar, he supports everything

Danny McGuire has made a career out of doing this.

It's a shame McKinnon didn't see the season out. For me, he would have had a field day running next to Watts.

The thing is, you shouldn't need to sign players to back the runner up. It's one of the simplest things you could ever be asked to do to just run after the man with the ball. FFS, it's the natural instinct at a child's age, that's why most early kids' games you see are mainly a bunched mob moving around the pitch. Not backing up is down to laziness, poor fitness, or being just plain dumb. ANY player should be capable of running, even Forrest Gump grasped the concept.

I watched a video the other day which was highlights of the 2006 season and I couldnt believe how many long range trys we scored, all simply through having plenty of support runners.

Haha what a great post, for so many wrong reasons, don't you think every hb in super league would be regarded as a world class support player if it was so simple, it's people like you who moan on here that we havn't had a organiser for years and lack leadership, and then in the next breath want our organisers chasing every prop with every carry, don't you think the hb, so are setting up the next 2 or 3 plays? It's not kids rugby it takes some thought to break down top class opposition defences and support play takes some skill and initiative, think you prove that coaches are up against it pleasing us hull fans
