On the subject of hard work, interesting that at the bottom of today's O'Meley piece Gentle says that next season will have a longer pre-season period. Sounds like he's getting serious.

Makes me chuckle about having a break to watch origin, sky+ it like the rest of us and watch it when you get in from work.
With the longer pre season planned must mean Gentle isn't to impressed with our fitness levels, gonna be a tough boys!

In practice, what it will actually do is disgruntle an already fragile and in some cases discontented set of players. A big chunk of your players will be missing anyway due to international call ups and injuries. There is plenty of time until your next match and plenty of opportunities to put in double sessions to correct things that are currently going wrong. Lets be honest, although performances may have dipped lately the score-lines show that you are not that far away from winning these matches.

You don't get rewarded for losing. Its a mentality I am happy to see employed.
I see this as nothing more then another test from the coaching staff as they again try to sort out the players with bad attitude. O'meley was one of the early ones to be ousted out, I wonder who will be next. |
