not at all! We cannot be a team that doesnt challenge,retain all the fans faves and then suddenly be a top team! Manu is 1 of SLs best 2nd rowers,he;s being replaced by 1 of the WORLDS best! In a position we already v strong. Hull are happy with mckinnon situation. By all accounts was on a lot more than his worth! Mckinnon money,manu money,ogre-it seems-moa money along with a few others frees up loads n loads of cash. Our emphasis seems very much too be on bringing in young british players mostly. Which is cheaper,without being cheap for the sake of cheap-could get 3/4 good british for cost of 2 overseas players which can be troublsome and carry baggage eg moa and mckinnon this season alone! plus as overseas quota falls into line more as exempt players are getting older this policy will stand us in good stead! Have no probs with any of the players we been linked with. With the style gentle wants to play with i think they could all be good signings even crookes -who on the face of it is the most underwhelming of the names rumoured. Sums it up for me, changes are needed to move the club forward to success and we can't do it by retaining the majority of the squad.

yes Salford! They are in a cromparable position to u league wise,have more 1st team players in their squad which they developed and around the league even more top class which unfortunatly for them couldnt hold,ie myler ratchford even our own turner! Plus they playing in a brand new multi million pound stadium!

But there's still only the same number of places in each NRL 1st team squad. If the top guys stay longer in the nrl and don't come over here then there must be some younger and capable players who would otherwise have replaced them kicking their heels in the Toyota Cup etc. I would have thought a stint over here would be preferable and more lucrative for some of those and it may give them a chance to make their name. Gentle and McCrae may be able to unearth the odd gem??

It's hard for them to contemplate, isn't it? Pearson, Gentle and McRae have a completely different mindset regarding antipodeans to Hudge and co.

Considering many bigger named players from the NRL have come to the ESL and failed to live up to the billing they've been given can't see whats wrong in giving a young player a chance.
