Let's be honest any concession is a discount in its own right, no-one has to offer it, there is no absolute right as a fan to demand this discount. You as a fan still take up a seat/place at a game and only toddlers should not be expected to pay if they are either sitting on the knee of a fan or are standing between their legs in front of them. That clubs offer a discount for students/OAP's & kids is obviously the right thing to do given their likely income stream & in the case of kids allows parents a better chance to bring them to games from a financial POV.

People who moan about the prices need to think about the actual value, I saw lady ga-ga tickets going for £100+ (if you could get them at that) you'd then have the travelling, the outrageous marked up drinks & food prices for what, some women doing a couple of hours singing, yet people happily spend this money for concerts.
How about theatre tickets, entrance to attractions etc etc. all costs are going up, like insurances, wages, maintenance, utility costs. If you drop prices significantly you set your stall out to lose money a la bulls & I'm sure Hudds felt the pinch on their silly low season ticket prices (yet still didn't ensure they get big attendances)

I travelled up from Hertfordshire for the Hudds game and sat in the West stand, basic cost £70, I wish I could get the time/afford the travelling to come each game as I'd buy a season pass.
Sitting in a decently comfy uncramped seat with a cracking view is worth what it is to follow my team through thick & thin. However it is also the perogative of fans to choose not to come to support their team, I'm sure many have other priorities, however If some fans believe £2/£3/£4 on the gate price is the difference to them attending or not then they're deluding themselves in my honest opinion.

The only difference I can see is that the south stand discount is available all season instead of 1 game like the wigan discount.

TBF Its the football season that dictates the price. We ALWAYS see a price rise in August when the new season kicks off.
