How unfair to compare fitz and lynch,lynch has been a top quality signing as was fitz,but fitz had to do so much defensive work there wasn't any wonder he didn't have as much go forward as we would have liked.Both terrific signings imo.

No doubt Lynch has been amazing in the short time he's played for Hull but I'd say this comment is a bit disrespectful to other FC captains. Richard Swain and Tony Grimaldi in particular, who were both massive for us.

Swain was a brilliant captain for us and anyone saying different is crazy!

Agreed. Lynch, or any one else, will have to have a pretty special stint at captain to top Swainy in the SL.

It's not disrespectful whatsoever it's an opinion. Where do I slag off the players you mention ? That would be disrespectful. Swain was a legend who led by example with his work rate as did Grimaldi who was a fine player. Lynch does that too but also has a greater presence on the field for me - more vocal and not afraid to make representations where required. He got a standing ovation from the other players when named as captain before the season start so clearly has the respect of his team mates.

If you disagree that's fine I wont feel you are being disrespectful to Lynch.

I believe that Lynch has the potential to gain the mantel of best Hull captain in the SL era. I just think that 8 competitive games is a relatively small sample size to make such a determination, especially when you're comparing him to guys who put in years of service.

You can never tell with these things, lets take Moobs Clinton for example, now he was allegedly the highest paid forward in Australia when he was there yet since being with you he is pretty much pants who only made 6 drives against Hudds.

I like the Moobster, but I'd guess Lynch is better value for money so far.

Lynch is awesome. Stats King, fit as, and loves doing the hoovering. All-round excellence.

Some very harsh posts on Fitz here. Think they were watching another player! Fitz performed brilliantly given the circumstances he was in at the club. Andy Lynch playing under Agar wouldn't have the same impact.

Clinton IMO was never as consistent as Lynch, tough comparison as they played in different leagues like.

You only have to look at the rest of the players who were playing under Agar to see what a difference that Gentle has made in the 5-6 months he has been here. Sharp is a revelation, Tickle & Manu seem to have gone up a level, Turner has impressed etc. Yes some maybe down to the new players that have come in but for me Gentles methods etc are getting the best (and more in some cases) out of the players he has at his disposal, which is more than the previous coaching achieved.

I think his ability to off load and get the off load to the right person has been fantastic and something we've missed since Carvell left, he has already set up a lot of tries this season from getting a good off load in the right position, Radders did a lot of offloads but a high percentage went to the ground! Also he has a fantastically strong hand off which allows him to draw in the opposition push them off and then slip a pass away, as he did for the first of horne's tries on friday and Manu's also!

He'll have to carry the pack this week. Arms look up to the task though:
