| Potentially good news. Out of him and Ogre its a tough choice. Ogre is a better player but does not have long left in the game and would be more expensive.
I can see us needing to free Ogres money up.

Well I'm glad you're not in charge of recruitment is my response to that.
Assuming one of Moa and O'Meley stays I would be happy to push Tickle into the front row and have Bowden as 5th prop. If they both go then we will need a replacement. Otherwise I'd say a top class centre is our only major target along with some promising younger players (like when we got Jamie Ellis).
I'm really pleased with the squad as it is and I think we are good enough for top 4 this season. Next season we dont need to overhaul everything to continue progressing imo.

Indeed - the kid is unrecognisable from the player we were watching, head in hands many a time, last year.

That is exactly what is happening. O`meley is going to free up cap space . He is one of our top earners.

| Who's to say we won't renegotiate O'Meleys contract?
Now we have a owner with a few more ideas we may even give one of our ooc players a 60k bonus this year and a lesser contract next.

It's an option as I believe his contract was backloaded.

Makes you wonder if we've backloaded Ellis deal, giving us more options for next season.

Like already stated, I'm another who is glad that you are not in charge. I'd like to know who you think are these better props available? Moa has been great for us these last two years and we need to keep him without spending a crazy amount of wages on him.
And there is no reason to get rid of Sharp if he continues to play how he is now. Reece Lyne isn't going to make it at Hull FC imo yes he's young but he's so raw in terms of skill. He's just one of them players you hope to get the ball to and let him use of speed to do damage. Lineham will make the break through within a couple of years and already looks to have more to his game than Lyne. Big, strong, powerfull and probably more of a rugby brain too.
As long as you keep away from the recruitment at Hull FC we'll do more good than not.

| Would love to keep Ogre and Moa butright now on current form, if it was a straight choice I'd keep Ogre. Moa badly needs to improve his discipline, could have cost us the London game and gave crucial pens away at Saints too. Has to sort this out. How many pens has he given away this season for hands on the ball, if we're being brutally honest, its not good enough.

Tickle gives a few penalties away as well maybe we can bin him while we're at it.

Name a couple of these better props that are available, off quota, and cheaper.

Interesting interview with Gwilym. Having incited a prolonged debate on the inadequacies of FC's youth development on Sportstalk he backs up with an interview asking several questions to Moa about whether he's a dirty player, has the one game "fragmented" his season, and how insulted is he about being referred to as a project.
I'm sure the same line of questioning was applied it Con Mika folowing his single game suspension.

He was actually suggesting that the players had been told that if they play well we have plenty of cap space for improved contracts etc.

Ahh right fair enough.
Can't remember which players are ooc at the end of the year but off the top of my head I'd be looking at releasing. Martin, Burnett, Kent and possibly Aspinwall. Been happy with Aspinwall but with the best back rower in the world maybe barring Thaiday, I don't see a future at Hull for him. We'll have Manu, Tickle, Westerman, Ellis and Whiting along with Turner who can play there plus youngsters.

| O'Meley is better then Moa and Moa is on a big contract after other teams put bids in for him before he signed his previous deal,
Time will tell but at the end of the season I feel Sharp and Moa willl leave as we need 13 quality players to start and Sharp is not quality . To give us a better chance of winning trophies we need wingers of the quality of teams like Wigan
Who has the best wingers?
Wigan = Richards/Charnley or
FC = Briscoe/Sharp?
Who is best O'Meley or Moa? be honest
PS. what a win today

Ffs Sharp is doing nothing wrong this season upto now and you can't expect just to get rid of a player if there is no one else who is better to replace them. I guess you're one of the fans who hope that he messed up just so you could slag him off! Just because Wigan have got a better set of wingers than us, so what. Yes it would be nice to have Charnley and Richards but we have two English wingers. There is no point Hull wasting a quota spot on a winger because we don't use both wingers like other teams do.
Plus who are these other better available props you mention then?

I actually don't think there is much between Moa and O'Meley at all these days, and i'd expect Moa to be offered an increased contract and O'Meley a slightly reduced one to narrow the gap in terms of salary.
Sharp is playing well at the moment and if he keeps this form up I woulden't have any issue giving him a new deal. I also don't feel that Wing is a position where we should be spending huge amounts of salary cap, as i've always been of the school of thought that if your pivots and pack are good enough, any half-decent winger can put the chances away.

| I want Sharp to do well I just feel we can get a better player for similar wages with much more potential
Below is what I Feel would give us a far better squad and a brilliant chance of winning trophies next season
In 4 players
1 of - Arundel / McGillvary / Cudjoe / Crookes / Danny Williams
Aussie Centre like Jamie Lyon
Gareth Ellis
1 of Paul Johnson / Kopczak / Whitehead
Out 5/6 players
Will Sharp
Tony Martin
Turner
Sam Moa
Mike Burnett
(Aspinwall if extra money needed)
