What got me When Lynne got hit and was laid out and the ball came free the ref played on
A Rovers man get laid out the ball come free but the ref stop the game straight away..
The ref was right to stop the game for the Rovers man because the lad suffered a broken leg
But the way Lynne when down he could have fractured his skull

I suppose the ref should have stopped the game every time Cox ran the ball, because of his upright running style, every tackle looked like it could have given him whiplash.

Maybe a bit OTT, but Lyne was laid out for some time, with a number of people treating him, including, I think, 2 Rovers staff. Looked bad and could have been much worse.

Reminds me of a certain hit on grix by yeamo last season... both good shots IMO but 1 was play on and the other was ok until the hudds players started crying that grix was nearly dead

The injury to the Hkr player was totally different.

Even from S/S I could see both players were badly hurt and needed medical attention ..My point was he was quick to stop the game straight away once but not the first time But I forgot the first time it was a Hull man that was hurt ..and to you that make it OK

Was it 1 Rovers scored from it 2 Rovers kick the goal and the ht hooter went hull players waited till the lad came round before going off the ref didn't stop the game for that incident.he played on HE stopped the game has soon as the Rovers player lost the ball and stayed down

What are you talking about? Of course it was stopped seconds after thats when hkr scored!

The Hkr player had broke his leg with the ball in hand, explain to me what the ref should have done?

I don't know when you think the ref could or should have stopped the game.

Lyne didn't have the ball to be able to play it, he lost it in a fair tackle, play on.

Beaumont was tackled, retained the ball but wasn't able to get up and play it, the game was stopped.

Two different situations, had McDonnell knocked the ball on, play would have stopped, as it was; there was no break in play.

Other way round we'd think it was great! Let's not let our sport go the same way as football. Fair play as far as I'm concerned!

The only point I'll make is that the KR player dropped the ball before the ref stopped play which is understandable since he had a broken leg but I'd assume under the letter of law it should be a knock on since the game hadn't been stopped at that point. Unless anyone knows different?

From losing the ball it took only 3 seconds from that moment for the ball to be touched down over the whitewash.

unfortunatly many just dont have the sense! personally ive seen him at fullback before,but many saw that 10 mins the other day were made no errors apart from lose the ball whilst unconcious but yet know better than the coaching staff who work with him day in day out? why are these people on here and not SL coaches?! the standard of hull fan has dropped a lot in recent times! Many not happy unless moaning,and they'll not think twice about destroying and tearing down our own players. Tommy lee didnt deserve all abuse he got,hall the same, a fair few others too ,sharp getting it now and reece about to get same treatment! tommy briscoe should count his lucky stars he's had the good fortune to have served his apprenticeship on the left outside yeamo and manu and not on the cursed right side cos these people would have probably found reason to tear him down too! also regards that England game not long ago i got to watch that game! tries from different areas and out the back flick passes and won a good few pens! along with MOM all amongst the best of acadamy players england has!

If the Hull players didn't react it was probably because they didn't see anything wrong with the tackle too. Strange that the ref didn't check he was ok though.

The fact Reece didn't drop a ball until he was knocked out
The fact he actually took a high ball knowing he was gonna be smashed within a split second of catching it
The fact he's still a young lad & is just starting out in that position
All point out that just maybe he has got the heart & skills to become a successful fullback if given a chance.
It was a brave catch followed by a well timed tackle, end of!
So perhaps people should hold back from slagging a young prospect off & actually encourage & support him.
Or maybe we should jump on any sign of weakness & shout abuse from the stands & post pages of nonsense on forums to totally ruin any young players confidence!
If Reece is going to try out at fullback he is gonna get caught out from time to time as I'm sure he'll do some good things. But let's not add to the pressure he'll be under like when Hall played there, or Tommy Lee played at halfback, or last year when Sharp was struggling.

Lynne didn't do an awful lot wrong in that game other than take an almighty hit from a well timed kick. Maybe he should've jumped or turned his back but thats all part of the learning process in a new position. He was unfortunate that he took a big one and we scored from it.

The difference between the play on in this situation and the Beaumont was is simple. Beaumont was tackled, the tackle was completed and he was seriously injured. The ref stopped play at that point. Lynne wasn;t tackle complete, if Rovers hadn't scored I would assume the ref would have stopped play at the next tackle. As it was we we scored and there was a natural break and ultimately the half time hooter.

If you stop play for the Lynne incident then any player dropping the ball in a tackle would fake injury to stop the opposition playing on, we'd turn into football with players rolling all over and joggin off 5 seconds later.
