Well our coaching team see something I don't, time will tell but you get the impression its a stop gap signing.
Positive aspect if these is one is he's a Sid Domic type signing who might do a job for us.

Terrible signing. Why bother when both Whiting and Turner would be better options? Certainly doesn't fit in with the ambitions stated when AP took over.

If the old regime would of pulled off these signings people on this board would have gone into meltdown. I'm a little concerned with recent developments if I'm honest, AP talked the talk and got us all believing in our club again but in all honesty it seems like that's all he's doing.

If Martin gets the centre spot over Turner then its a travesty! Really confused by this one and not a signing from a club wanting to show its intent

I am pretty sure that this is not the end of it for this position. Surely, this is a back-up signing. I really don't see how Martin will keep Turner out of the side.

I hope you are right but at the moment I'm a little disappointed. I don't want either Martin or Turner in my side neither are good enough imo, we have needed a good right centre for years and the minute Pearson took over and gave his interview to HullFc TV he told us that it would be area he would strengthen well he certainly hasn't done that yet.

I suppose we all have to be a little calmer when it comes to this signing. The new coaching set up obviously feel that Martin can do a job and he is a specialist centre all be it one with not particularly good stats but maybe he's just a stop gap till we sign a top class player next season or a safety net whilst seeing if Turner improves. Not every player has to be a superstar for example Deacon who was at the very end of his career and considered very much past it when playing fro Wigan in their grand final winning year.

Keith Senior would have been a better stop gap signing.

It is very much like the Sid Domic signing and that didn't turn out bad. His stats don't look good but he was playing in beaten teams. His experience might also help either Lynn or Sharp who'll be playing outside him. I'm clutching at straws now aren't i?

No disrespect but if I were a Wakey fan with all the troubles they have been through and found out we were signing Martin I would be disappointed.

So as a Hull fan with AP's rallying call of wanting to win things ringing in my ears I am utterley gobsmacked with this signing. Turner and Whiting are better centres, i'd rather play Horne there or even do what other clubs do and blood a youngster and play Crooks. No matter how you dress this up it's a pathetic signing and reminds of Bomber at Salford.

So AP said we will show our intent in October, well Martin should not be near a top 8 side so what does that intent mean now?

If we wanted a stop gap signing then sign Senior. Ok won't be as cheap as Martin but I thought we'd moved on from cheap.

If Kath/RA had made this signing people would be calling for a public hanging.
